Here we go day two of the Compassionate Image.
So I am a certified Compassion Cultivation Trainer by the way.
And these meditations are part of the eight week course.
And so the second option for the Compassionate Image,
Which is an image of divine love,
Compassion,
Truth,
Could be a wise person that you deeply admire.
A teacher,
Maybe a spiritual teacher,
Either someone who is still alive or who has passed away,
A saint,
A mystic who has that,
Who emanates that divinity for you.
Or it could be an ancestor,
It might be a grandparent,
A parent,
A grandparent,
A great grandparent,
A great uncle,
Someone in your lineage who you feel has loved you unconditionally.
So let's go with this image and just close your eyes.
And cultivate this image that represents a source of wisdom,
Strength,
Love and caring for you.
Image that wise person whom you deeply admire and respect.
Who is this for you?
It is not necessary to actually have a specific visual image.
Simply to think of such an image is fine.
What's important is that in the presence of this wise person,
This teacher,
You can be completely yourself,
Nothing more,
Nothing less.
You don't have to pretend.
You don't have to try to be someone other than you are.
There is no judgment,
No critical voice of reprimand.
Instead you just find simple acceptance.
What does this feel like?
What does it feel like to just receive this?
To let it in?
You can just be yourself.
And love and compassion and kindness is pouring from this wise person into you.
This ancestor,
This teacher,
This saint,
This mystic.
And you just let yourself be poured onto.
Especially into those places that need it,
That don't feel loveable.
That might feel scared or confused or angry or hurt or ashamed.
You can envision rays of light coming from the face of this wise person and touching your heart.
And with the presence of this light,
You can relax.
There is something in our bones,
In our nervous system that deeply relaxes when we know that we are loved that way.
That compassion comes our way in unconditional ways.
Take this relaxation into your silent meditation now if that is what you are doing.
Pause me and turn me back on when you are ready.
Just before we leave the meditation chair or pillow,
Let's take another deep breath into this light of compassion received.
Let's bathe in it for one more breath.
And then gently opening your eyes,
Allowing the forms you see,
The light,
The colors you see around you into your space.
And making a commitment to integrate this into your life now as you get off the pillow.
Don't forget about this.
You can call upon this image anytime during the day when you really feel like you need it.
Have a beautiful day.
