A short mindful meditation to help you get focused before taking part in any movement practice. Whether that's a walk, a workout, a yoga practice or simple moving your body in whatever feels good to you. You can do this before a gym workout if you're comfortable to do so with headphones on.

Let's prepare you and settle you into this moment before you begin your movement practice or your session today.

So first off let's begin tuning into the breath.

Taking a nice inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.

Tuning into this rhythm of breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth in your own time.

Bringing in the oxygen and pushing out any tension,

Any thoughts,

Focusing on the rhythm of your breathing.

And if you are standing or walking or in your warm up just start to feel your feet as they press into the ground or make contact with the ground as you go.

Really tuning into the breath and the body and start to sink that breath to the body by noticing what happens when you inhale and exhale.

Perhaps noticing the shoulders coming up and falling down,

The belly filling with air and then exhaling to release.

Just really tuning into the whole body breathing.

Next I want you to tune into an intention.

Why are you here?

Are you here to move for your mind,

Your mental health?

Are you here to feel good,

To get energy,

To work on your strength or just carve out some time for yourself?

Try and set yourself some intention,

A positive intention,

A supportive intention before you move into this movement practice,

Whatever that looks like for you.

Even if that intention is just to be showing up here today to follow that curiosity,

That's enough.

So taking another inhale through the nose and exhale that energy out into the space around you.

Just take a moment now to look around where you are,

Taking it in,

Just briefly noticing what you can see,

What you can hear and just remember you've got your breath throughout this practice,

Tune into that.

And if the mind wanders away that's okay but just bring it back to the breath and the body and enjoy this time that you've carved out for yourself.
