Hello.

Welcome to the Daily Insight.

My name is Brian Hyman.

Today our meditation will be about what we do when we don't know what to do,

What to say when we don't know what to say,

What to think when we don't know what to think.

Let's begin.

Find a comfortable position.

Close the eyes.

Begin to focus on the breath.

Breathe in a style that's comfortable for you.

Become aware of the inhale as an in-breath.

Become aware of the exhale as an out-breath.

And with your awareness,

Follow the breath.

Begin to focus on the breath.

As you breathe consciously,

Deeply,

Notice how only a few moments of stillness begins to relax the body.

Notice how only a few moments of focusing on breath begins to quiet the mind.

The way we think,

The way we speak,

The way we act,

These are reflections of our state of being.

As you breathe with awareness,

As you remain still,

This influences our state of being.

The level of presence we are now cultivating simply by focusing on breath and remaining still will affect the way we speak,

The way we think,

The way we act.

Continue to breathe with awareness and continue to soften.

Maybe today there's stress in the shoulders.

See if you can relax the shoulders.

Maybe today you're holding tension in the jaw.

Try to relax the jaw.

Maybe today there's tightness around the eyes.

Try to relax the muscles around the eyes.

Continue to breathe with awareness.

Let's stay still.

You you you you you you you you Let's take a deep inhale together.

Exhale,

Let it go.

Notice the quality of the mind.

Again,

Deep inhale.

And exhale,

Let it go.

Notice the quality of the thoughts.

Last time,

Deep inhale.

And exhale,

Let it go.

Now,

If all words,

If the things we are going to say today from this moment forward,

And if all actions,

The things we are going to do on this day moving forward,

Come from this place of awareness,

If our speech,

Our actions and our thoughts come from the stillness that we just cultivated,

And the awareness of the present moment that we just found,

We will know what to think,

And what to say,

And what to do.

This meditation is called the daily insight.

Our insight for today is to come home to ourselves,

To search within the heart,

To bring into alignment our thoughts,

Our words and our actions.

Gently blink the eyes open.
