Welcome to day three of the in-between course,
Living in the Plateau.
This is a guided inner journey practice.
There's nothing you need to figure or fix here.
You're simply being invited to turn your attention inward and allowing what needs to come in in the plateau,
Allowing what needs to come in and be in the in-between.
So notice what's present in your body and your breath.
Listen in whatever way feels most supportive to you,
Eyes open or closed,
Lying down or seated,
Moving or still.
If you need to pause or adjust at any point,
Trust that.
Now,
Let's begin.
Go ahead and settle in.
And begin by taking a slow,
Steady breath in and out your nose.
And now do this one more time,
Allowing the breath to find its own natural rhythm.
Thoughts may come and go,
And that's normal.
So when you notice your attention drifting,
There's no need to follow it.
Just return to your breath,
Silently repeating in on the in-breath and out on the out-breath.
In and out.
The slow rhythm of your breath helps your body release what it's been holding without effort.
The edges of your eyes are soft,
Your jaw slightly open,
And your shoulders soften and drop.
Stay with breathing in and out your nose,
Slow,
Steady.
Noticing the simple rise and fall of each breath and how it moves through your body.
Now,
Taking a slightly longer breath in,
Linger for just a moment,
And with a longer exhale,
Feel the body soften just a little more.
Once again,
Taking a deeper breath in,
Holding briefly before the breath releases on its own.
The body knows exactly how to let go.
If you need to shift or move to get even more comfortable right where you are,
Do that now.
Let your body guide.
Continue the breath slow and steady,
Simply rising,
Falling in and out.
Now,
Bring your awareness to your center,
Your heart space.
There is nowhere else you need to be,
Nothing you need to figure out,
Nothing you need to move toward right now.
This is where you are,
Right here,
In this place between what was and what is still forming.
And instead of trying to change it or move through it or understand it or force something,
See if you can simply allow it,
Allowing this moment to be exactly as it is,
Allowing yourself to be exactly as you are,
Allowing this moment to be exactly as you are.
The mind may feel ready for what's next,
Ready for clarity or direction.
And the body,
The body may still be integrating,
Still adjusting,
Still catching up in its own time.
There's nothing wrong with that.
This is part of the process.
There is wisdom in the pause,
Wisdom in the waiting,
Wisdom in allowing the body to be in the moment,
To meet the change at its own pace.
Notice if there is any urge to rush or push or force to move yourself forward.
If you sense that,
Just notice it and let it soften,
Allowing the effort to fall away,
Letting the pressure dissolve.
This is not a time for force.
This is a time for grace,
Grace for the body,
Grace for the time to move forward.
Timing,
Grace for being in between.
See if you can rest in this place,
Not as a delay,
Not as something to get through,
But as a meaningful part of the journey.
Allowing the body to do what it knows how to do,
Quietly,
Intelligently,
Without needing instruction.
There is nothing more required of you than being here.
Nothing you need to surrender beyond being here.
Simply allowing what is to be what is.
My voice will grow quiet for a bit so you can remain with this allowing,
Without interruption,
Without expectation,
Simply being here as you are.
So now,
Coming back to the sound of my voice,
Your breath continues slow and steady.
And noticing that you are here,
Aware,
Present.
No need to hurry this moment or name what happened to you.
Just allow a few natural breaths in and out.
And when it feels right,
Begin to bring small movements back into the body.
Wiggle the toes,
Wiggle the fingers,
Open and close your hands.
Perhaps even taking one slightly fuller breath in and letting it go through the mouth.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes,
Returning softly,
Without brushing,
Letting whatever has been integrating to continue in its own time.
With grace and allowance.
I invite you to take a few moments here before moving on with your day.
