I came across this quote by Victor Frankl that caused me to stop and think.
He said,
Man does not simply exist but always decides what his existence will be,
What he will become the next moment.
By the same token,
Every human being has the freedom to change at any instant.
If I had read this three years ago,
I would not have understood.
You see,
Back then I was living a life of existence,
Doing what needed to be done but nothing was filling my soul.
Today I completely get this quote because I understand that I decide my next step.
I decide my next action.
I have the freedom to change at any instant.
If there's something that I don't like,
I can choose my reaction and my response to it and by doing so,
Change my direction.
Do you believe that for you?
Do you believe that you have the freedom to change at any instant?
Do you believe that you can change that pattern of frustration or anger?
Do you believe you can change that pattern of not feeling good enough or not believing you are good enough or not believing you're enough at all?
So I want you to go ahead and close your eyes for a moment,
Taking a few breaths in and out through the nose.
On the next breath,
Feel your jaw relax and your shoulders drop.
Take one longer,
Slower breath in and out through your nose.
In a moment,
I'm going to say a few words and I want you to finish the sentence silently in your own mind.
Listen to your response as I ask the question,
What do you want to see changed in your life?
What do you want to see changed in your life?
What is it that you want to see changed in your life?
Listen from within for the next few moments,
Answering the question,
What do you want to see changed in your life?
Now pausing for a second,
Let it become totally clear in your mind what you want to see changed in your life.
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes but keep your focus on what you realized in this moment.
