To Prepare for Guided Shamanic or Spirit Journeys: create a safe, uninterrupted space where you can lay down or sit leaning up against a wall or backrest. To assist going into an altered state of consciousness, it is recommended to use a blindfold or scarf to block out the light. Often, the physical body will get cold as we travel, so a light blanket is also helpful. Have your journal and pen close by, so that you can record your experience quickly (without editing) when you return, as journeys, like dreams, dissipate easily once we come back to the concrete reality.
