Visualization is a powerful tool.
Today's meditation uses visualization to take control of an aspect of our life that is concerning us.
It helps us become the director of our life.
So,
If you haven't already,
Find a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down.
Feel your body settle into the surface supporting you.
Lightly place your attention on your breath without altering it at all.
The air going in and out.
Notice its movement within your body.
The gentle rise and fall of your chest,
Your abdomen.
Relax into the rhythm of it.
Breathing in relaxation,
Breathing out tension.
One breath at a time.
Relaxing more and more.
Your face,
Your shoulders,
Your arms and hands,
Your abdomen,
Your hips,
Your buttocks,
Your legs and feet.
Breathing in relaxation,
Breathing out tension.
One breath at a time.
Relaxing more and more.
I'd like you to visualize a beam of light shining on the top of your head.
Follow the beam of light up,
Up through time and space,
To a point of light far above you.
As you focus your attention on this point,
It becomes larger and larger,
Brighter and brighter,
Like a spotlight,
Closer and closer,
Until you are standing in it,
Standing in a spotlight,
Standing in the center of a stage behind a curtain of deep blue.
There is something familiar about the set.
You feel unsettled and a sense of tenseness enters your body.
Take a deep breath in and slowly let it out.
Let the warmth of the spotlight flow over you,
Relaxing you.
Again,
Take a deep breath in and slowly let it out.
Watch now as the curtain smoothly opens.
You are standing in the center of a stage,
In a large theater before an audience.
Rows and rows of seats are filled with,
You squint to get them in sharper focus,
An audience of universal beings of light.
If you scan the rows of seats,
You will notice that there is only one vacant.
A member of the audience beckons you to join them.
Take your seat and settle back.
Feel the warmth and radiance of those around you.
Relax and watch as the curtain closes.
Enjoy its movement,
The sound,
The colors as it moves across the stage.
Before it reopens,
I'd like you to take a moment or two to think of a current situation that is troubling you.
To picture the people involved.
It may concern issues of health,
Emotional upset,
Relationships,
Family,
Work,
Decisions to be made,
Finance or something you'd like to change.
Watch now as the curtain reopens.
You recognize the scene.
You recognize the characters.
It is the situation that is troubling you.
Someone is playing you.
The characters are frozen,
Waiting.
They turn and look at you.
They are waiting for you.
You are the director.
This is your life.
You can direct the situation.
You can make changes.
Make it right.
Heal it.
It is your responsibility to make sure that your directions are for the good of the whole.
See yourself in charge,
Coping with the crisis,
Handling the situation,
Making amends with love and wisdom.
You know what has to be done.
You know how.
Hai hai Now see yourself playing you.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
You.
