So the fourth foundation of mindfulness,

Dharmas,

And the meditation,

The hindrances and awakening factors.

And a poem to his Zinkal,

The Call.

I have heard it all my life,

A voice calling a name I recognised as my own.

Sometimes it comes as a soft-bellied whisper,

Sometimes it holds an edge of urgency,

But always it says,

Wake up my love,

You are walking asleep,

There's no safety in that.

Remembering what you are and let this knowing take you home to the beloved with every breath.

Hold tenderly who you are and let a deeper knowing colour the shape of your humanness.

There is nowhere to go.

What you are looking for is right here.

Open the fist clenched in wanting and see what you already hold in your hand.

There is no waiting for something to happen,

No point in the future to get to.

All you have longed for is here,

In this moment,

Right now.

You are wearing yourself out with all this searching.

Come home and rest.

How much longer can you live like this?

Your hungry spirit is gaunt,

Your he-heart stumbles,

All this trying,

Give it up.

Let yourself be one of the God-mad,

Faithful only to the beauty you are.

Let the lover pull you to your feet and hold you close,

Dancing even when fear urges you to sit this one out.

Remember there is one word you are he-ry to say with your whole being.

When it finds you,

Give your life to it.

Don't be tight-lipped and stingy.

Spend yourself completely on the same.

Be one word in this great love poem we are writing together.

We come home.

Produces the stops sign legendary officers appear and are booth.

So settling down into our posture.

Setting our intention with a clear mind to be present,

Grounded,

Stable.

.

Allowing the body to be held and supported by gravity as we rest here.

.

.

Gently allowing our awareness to rest inside our direct experience.

.

Physically,

Emotionally and mentally.

.

Gradually becoming curious as to whether a hindrance is present.

.

Remembering to let go of any harsh judgments.

Being honest and transparent with ourselves.

.

And firstly asking ourselves,

Is the wanting mind present in me?

Is there a longing for some kind of pleasure through the senses?

Maybe fantasizing,

Dreaming,

Daydreaming.

Getting caught up in some kind of longing.

Needing something other than the present moment.

.

Asking ourselves,

Have we clearly recognized it?

This is the wanting mind.

And when we recognize it with clarity,

With awareness,

Does this weaken its hold over your heart and mind?

Does it lessen a little?

Can you see what conditions cause this hindrance to arise?

It's not random.

It's conditioned.

Just being very curious.

What conditioned this wanting mind that I'm experiencing right now?

And do I have a sense of what conditions I could put into place to prevent the future arising of this hindrance?

And if you are not experiencing the wanting mind,

Then resting with awareness of the absence of this hindrance,

Noting what that feels like.

.

Is aversion present in me?

Am I pushing something away?

Maybe getting frustrated,

Angry,

Denial.

Can we clearly recognize it?

This is aversion.

And does this change the hold it has over our heart and mind?

Being curious.

And this aversion,

It's not random.

It's conditioned.

What conditioned this aversion?

And do you have a sense of what conditions you could put into place to prevent the future arising of aversion?

And if we're not feeling aversion,

Noticing what that feels like.

Now,

Aversion.

Is there a lack of energy present in me?

And am I getting caught up in the whole story around the lack of energy?

Have we clearly recognized that there is this lack of energy in me?

And with clarity,

With awareness,

Does this change how I feel?

Does it weaken its hold over our hearts and mind?

Can you see what conditions have caused this?

And what conditions could prevent this?

And if you're not feeling this lack of energy,

Noting what that feels like.

Is restlessness and anxiety present in me?

Recognizing it with clarity and awareness?

Does that change its hold over our heart and mind?

And see what conditions brought it about?

What conditions could prevent the future arising of restlessness and anxiety?

And if you're not experiencing restlessness and anxiety,

How does that feel?

Is doubt present in me?

Have we clearly recognized it?

It's not random.

It's conditioned.

What conditioned this doubt that I'm experiencing right now?

And what conditions could you put in place to prevent the future arising of this doubt?

And if you're not experiencing doubt,

Noting how that feels.

Really getting to know our direct experience.

Really seeing how it's conditioned.

And really reflecting on how we can create conditions to prevent the future arising of hindrances.

I could see the same Hagar Yahoo and I could see him talking about resilience.

We don't really see that in today's education.

Now,

Investigate and explore the awakening factors.

These are progressive and one may grow out of the preceding one.

If we nurture our experience with gentle,

Kindly awareness.

So firstly,

Is mindfulness present in me?

Am I able to be curious?

Am I aware?

And if so,

Is energy present in me?

Am I engaged?

Do I feel alive?

And if so,

With kindly awareness,

Asking ourselves,

Is joy present in me?

An open heart perhaps?

Expansive And if so,

Is joy present in me?

And if so,

Nurturing our experience with kind,

Gentle awareness.

Always being honest.

Getting to know our direct experience.

Is tranquility present in me?

Tasting it however subtle.

Peace.

And then nurturing our experience with kind,

Gentle awareness.

Is concentration present in me?

An ability to maintain focus,

A bright mind,

A clear mind.

Is equanimity present in me?

Poise and balance.

No matter how fleeting or subtle,

Knowing it,

Tasting it.

Text-to-speech is oftenSB So,

Clearly recognizing the presence or the absence of any of these awakening factors.

Mindfulness,

Energy,

Joy,

Tranquility,

Concentration,

Equanimity.

And every time you notice an awakening factor with clarity and awareness,

Does it naturally strengthen its presence in your heart and mind so it can blossom and grow?

These awakening factors are not random,

They are conditioned.

They arise and are dependent on cause and conditions.

What choices can you make to create conditions for the future arising of these awakened factors in your life and in your meditation?

Knowing these experiencing,

Knowing their power and committing to creating the conditions for the future arising of these experiences.

Mindfulness or the absence of mindfulness.

Energy or the absence of energy.

Joy or the absence.

Tranquility,

Concentration,

Equanimity or the absence of these.

And every time you notice an awakening factor with clarity and awareness,

Does it naturally strengthen its presence in your heart and mind?

This is the Stonehenge 450 color.

For practitioners who already know the basic how-to of anapanasati or vipassana, this check-up on the hindrances offers an alternate window on awareness. With plenty of calm space for practice.

Nice clean well spaced thoughtfulness (although are we meant to think?): happy to be where I am today. Thank you. 🙏
