Step 1: Prepare your body for relaxation

Begin by lying down in a comfortable position. Rest on a mat, sofa, or bed. Ensure your spine is straight, your arms rest gently at your sides, and your legs are slightly apart. To feel warm and secure, wrap yourself in a blanket or wear cozy clothing.

Take a deep breath in, gently tensing your body, and then release as you exhale. Repeat this a few times, letting tension flow away with each breath.

Step 2: Relax your facial muscles and settle into stillness

Close your eyes and feel the weight of your body. Let your eyelids grow heavy, your jaw soften, and your tongue rest naturally. Visualize tension leaving your face, neck, and shoulders as you exhale deeply. Feel the back of your head sink into the surface below you, grounding you further into relaxation.

Step 3: Set your sankalpa (intention)

Silently repeat a personal resolution or sankalpa in your mind, phrased in the present tense. This intention should reflect a positive change or goal you wish to manifest in your life. Repeat it three times with trust and confidence.

Step 4: Journey through the body

Begin a systematic journey through your body, bringing awareness to each part without movement. Feel your right thumb, fingers, palm, wrist, forearm, and so on. Repeat this process on your left side, the back of your body, and finally your front. Allow your breath and energy to flow through each area, refreshing and relaxing your entire being.

Step 5: Visualize the solstice celebration

Picture yourself on a sandy beach at sunset. Feel the warmth of the sand beneath your feet and hear the rhythmic crash of ocean waves. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky glows with hues of gold, orange, and red.

Walk toward a bonfire surrounded by people dancing joyfully. As you join the circle, feel a sense of unity with the Earth, Sun, and Moon. Allow the energy of the solstice—the abundance of light, vitality, and connection—to flow through you.

Step 6: Return to your sankalpa

As the dance winds down, recall your sankalpa from earlier in the practice. Repeat it silently to yourself with unwavering trust. Let this resolution anchor in your subconscious, supporting you beyond the meditation.

Step 7: Awaken gently

Reconnect with the present moment by becoming aware of your breath. Wiggle your toes and fingers, and slowly roll onto your side before sitting upright. Take a deep breath to reawaken your body and mind, feeling refreshed and centered.

Take a moment to reflect

After the meditation, spend a few moments reflecting on your experience. Consider these questions to deepen your practice:

  1. How did the solstice imagery affect your sense of connection and renewal?
  2. What emotions or sensations arose as you journeyed through the visualization?
  3. How did repeating your sankalpa deepen your commitment to your intentions?
  4. How can you bring the energy of the solstice into your daily life?

Writing down your reflections or sharing them with a trusted friend can help solidify the insights gained during this practice.
