Hey there,
Welcome to a hit of hope.
It's maybe been a minute,
A minute since you meditated,
A minute since you breathed intentionally or went in,
Because maybe it feels like there is the biggest storm inside,
Or the deepest darkness,
Or a monster emptiness,
And it's hard to face,
Hard to deal with,
Sit with,
Be with.
In fact,
All we want to do is run away,
Do something else,
Be somewhere else,
Be someone else.
At least that's what it can feel like to me sometimes,
And hopefully I'm not alone.
But I don't know about you,
Do you ever feel so alone?
Time is slow,
The hours are empty,
So why would we want to meditate?
Why would we enter into it willingly?
Because loneliness and emptiness,
They're like the weather,
And I'm in Minnesota and we've just had some massive storms pounding their way through,
And it feels like that is going to go on forever,
But then suddenly things begin to quiet,
And settle,
And the light returns.
So,
Whatever it is you are facing,
Whatever comes up for you,
Whatever breaks open,
It's okay.
It's okay because it is,
And fighting against it,
It just leaves one exhausted.
Trust me,
I know,
But to come to this place,
To brave it,
To face what is,
Whatever it is,
To breathe,
To trust on to the center,
The one that is still,
It is,
If you get through all of the layers,
All of the gunk,
There is a stillness there,
And it is ready to ground you,
So sit,
Breathe,
Trust even this,
And if it's hard,
Repeat,
Repeat.
That's the best way I know,
To live light,
And shine,
Take care of you.
