To let this moment be takes courage. The mind is ready to flit like a butterfly. To chase like a dog. To sit in this moment takes courage. It asks us to trust that this is enough. That we are enough. To stay in this moment with presence requires courage. It means we are willing to give up the external possibility of praise and possession. It means we are willing to drop the narratives that diminish us. It means we are ready to turn away from numbing ourselves....

Take a deep breath,

Filling your body with fresh air.

As you exhale,

Let everything release.

Inhale,

You are full of life.

Exhale,

Surrender,

Center.

Inhale deeply.

Exhale,

Let it go.

Welcome to a hit of hope.

To let this moment be takes courage.

The mind is ready to flit like a butterfly to chase like a dog.

To sit in this moment takes courage.

It asks us to trust that this is enough.

That we are enough.

To stay in this moment with presence requires courage.

It means we are willing to give up the external possibility of praise,

Of possession.

To be present with this moment means we are willing to drop the old narratives that diminish us.

It means we are ready to turn away from numbing ourselves with the accumulation of things,

The sweet call of substances,

The subtle seduction of busyness,

The mind hooking constant threat of fear.

Inhale,

Exhale.

To let this moment be means we are ready to practice,

To create the conditions for an internal unwavering stillness.

And to stay and practice when that stillness gets stirred up again and again.

Inhale,

Exhale.

To let this moment be takes courage.

It means we are ready to trust that we are okay.

It means we are ready to trust that we are good enough without having to do one more damn thing.

Inhale,

Exhale.

As the thoughts come,

As the stories gather their plot lines,

As the old voices murmur,

It takes courage to sit,

Stay,

Trust that this is enough.

Courage means to live with heart and to move toward a position that's going to make us vulnerable.

Let me repeat that.

Courage means to live with heart and at the same time to move toward something that makes us vulnerable.

Live with courage.

Live with heart.

Commit to finding your stillness,

To being wide eyed,

To living wonder whelmed.

Be here.

Awake to every electrifying moment of being alive,

Whatever it brings.

Move from manipulate and chase to meditate and rest.

Rest in the breath that is the language of life.

Rest in the breath that is the covenant between the world and the body.

This is an occasion for courage.

Live with heart.

Move not away from but toward the beautiful tenderness inside.

Breathe.

Be.

Stay.

Let this moment ripen.

Say yes.

Breathe.

Stay.

Live light and live with courage.

I do so enjoy your meditations Betsy. I am getting nervous though as I'm assuming at some point I will have done them all... Midnight will end this 2022 year and with heart and courage, I am sooooo looking forward to a fresh year. Happy New Year and I am so grateful for your witty words πŸ’“

I love how β€œreal” Betsy is. Her demeanor and attitude resonates for those skeptical about meditation, and she opens the pathway for trying it with an open mind.

Thank you for this wonderful reminder. It is difficult to be courageous, but when we remember that we are enough, just as we are, it becomes a little easier. Thank you. πŸ€˜πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈβœŒ

I've done this meditation probably half a dozen times now, and every time it has affected me differently. Today, it showed me a mirror. Today, it showed me that the wallowing and and self-pity I've been basking in for the last few months weren't weakness and not-enough-ness (though they certainly felt like it in the moment). They were necessary steps in my healing process. Today, I heard and retained "wonderwhelmed", and it struck me to the core. Today, I have a date. Thanks in part to you, I feel ready and eager for that simple step forward. Thank you.
