Welcome to this five minute pause.
Finding a way of sitting that feels comfortable,
Relaxed,
Yet still alert.
Letting go of whatever it is you may have been doing before this meditation and simply bringing your attention inward.
Taking two to three nice deep breaths.
And sensing where it is that your body is making contact with the earth.
Your seat on your cushion or chair.
Your feet on the ground.
Breathing into the amazing energy of Mother Earth below you,
Supporting you.
And bringing your attention now to your breath.
Sensing where it is in your body that your breath feels the easiest to detect in the moment.
Maybe in your nostrils or the rise and the fall of your belly.
And with the attention gently on the breath,
Allowing whatever is here for you to simply arise and pass,
Just like waves on the ocean.
And with the attention gently on the breath,

And when your mind wanders off as it will do,
Just gently bringing it right back to the breath.
