This was originally written as part of a letter to myself to help me practice forgiveness and deal with experiences I had trouble letting go of. It became a meditation for me and I recreated it to share with you. Although not a traditional guided practice, I hope you enjoy this meditation of forgiveness, compassion and love to yourself.

Welcome to this meditation on forgiveness.

My name is Bracey Armand Wright and thank you for allowing me to be with you in this moment.

As you settle into whatever space is most comfortable for you,

Let's begin to become aware of your breath.

Take a few slow,

Deep and gentle breaths,

Allowing your belly to feel and expand like a balloon as you inhale and to gently deflate as you slowly exhale.

Breathing deep from our belly not only allows us to receive more fresh oxygen for our lungs,

But it also helps us to ground and connect back with our bodies so that we are able to understand what we need in the present moment.

Feel free to close your eyes while settling deeper and deeper into your safe space.

In our lives,

There are so many experiences,

Situations and versions of ourselves that have been patiently waiting for our forgiveness and loving kindness so they can be healed and their energy can finally be free.

As we journey through this meditation today,

I ask that you allow yourself the space and the freedom to forgive and to heal.

I forgive you for all the limiting beliefs that hold you back.

I forgive you for the self-doubt,

The feelings of inadequacy and insecurity.

I forgive you for the tendency to judge others too quickly,

For your moments of struggle with imposter syndrome.

I forgive you for the mistakes that brought tears to the eyes of those who love you and sadness to the hearts of those you hold so dear.

I forgive you for those moments you spoke words that you can never take back.

I forgive you for allowing fear to keep you from trying.

I forgive you for being too hard on yourself,

For being selfish in those moments that required a selfless heart.

If you notice any difficult emotions arising,

Just allow them space to be and to be seen while you love yourself through them.

I forgive you for those moments that forgiveness was lost in your pride and your ego.

I forgive you for hating and disliking all those parts and versions of yourself that you try to run from and hide.

I forgive you for not appreciating yourself,

For not valuing yourself and knowing your worth.

For allowing those limiting beliefs to fool you and trick you into not trying your best.

I forgive you for believing you didn't have the space and support to be truly authentic to yourself and to do all the things that makes your heart smile.

We will always make mistakes because we will always be human.

In this life we live,

The only way we can heal and move forward is through forgiveness for those around us,

Those who have hurt us,

But no more important than forgiveness to ourselves.

Forgiveness within ourselves equals healing within ourselves and when we heal ourselves within we can heal the world around us.

Take one more slow,

Deep,

Gentle breath in and as you exhale,

Bring awareness to your body and to your mind,

Bring awareness to your present moment and the space that surrounds you.

And before you move,

Just take notice of any emotions that you are feeling in your body right now.

Feel free to return to this practice in those moments that you feel you are in need of healing.

And especially in those moments where you find it difficult to forgive yourself and others.

I am so honored and grateful that you allowed me to accompany you on this journey toward forgiveness.

I am Bracey Armand Wright and I will see you next time.
