People with a high level of personal mastery,

They have basic characteristics and qualities in common.

They all have this unique purpose that lies behind their vision,

Behind their goals.

And most of the time you'll hear this person say,

I feel called to do this.

This is my calling.

Right?

They have a deep sense of connectedness within themselves for other people and for nature itself.

You see,

They've realized that reality,

Life,

It's not the enemy.

It's your ally and it's always working for you.

They're a lifetime lovers of learning and they've understood that self mastery,

It's not something you gain.

It's not something you arrive at.

It's a process,

A journey.

And when they go through the trials and tribulations and setbacks and difficulties of scaling that mountain and they finally reach the peak,

They know it's not the end.

No,

They know.

It's just the beginning of a new mountain of scale.

And this is what those great leaders and world changers and heroes,

The great men and women throughout history have understood about this lifelong discipline called self mastery.

Now what are those common characteristics and traits that they have?

Well,

The commitment,

Vision,

Purpose,

Belief,

And self knowledge.

And when I'm talking about self knowledge,

I'm talking about your character,

You know,

Those mental and moral qualities distinctive to each individual.

Yeah,

Your character.

You see your character influences how you handle just about every aspect of your life.

Whether it's your relationship,

Your health and fitness,

Your career,

Finances.

You see characters developed over time.

Simply going through life is going to develop your character.

However,

Great character is developed by cultivating your four inner kingdoms.

Now I know you may be saying four inner kingdoms.

What is he talking about?

Well,

Don't worry.

I will explain.

But before I do,

I have a small request of you.

I invite you to check your beliefs and your preconceived notions at the door.

And for the remainder of this conversation,

Just listen with an open heart and an open mind.

Now,

I'm not going to try to talk you down from your beliefs or even try to argue your beliefs.

But what I will do is just present you with something that could be life changing.

And at the end of this conversation,

If you want to pick those beliefs back up and take them with you,

Feel free.

Fair enough?

All right.

So the four inner kingdoms,

What are they?

It's your mental,

Emotional,

Spiritual,

And physical.

These are the four inner kingdoms that make up self-mastery.

Your mind,

Body,

Heart,

And soul.

And the amount of work that you put in to develop these four kingdoms will not only determine the greatness of your character,

But also it can influence the quality of your life.

So let's start with the mindset.

You see,

The mind is basically what most people in the self-improvement field speak about.

Many spiritual leaders and teachers,

They focus on building up the mindset,

The importance of positive thinking and keeping a world-class mind because your thoughts create your reality.

And it is true.

A strong mindset is very important,

But it's only a small part.

Now,

Even if you had an amazing mindset,

But your heart was full of anger,

Fear,

Disappointment,

Jealousy,

And spiritually you were disconnected and confused,

How would you ever achieve those things that you truly desire?

How would you really manifest those wonders into your life?

Well,

It would be almost impossible and at the least extremely challenging.

And what about your emotional kingdom?

Even though emotions can be very difficult to understand at times,

We all know that positive and healthy emotions will bring positive and healthy results to other aspects of your life.

But for most people,

Their emotional lives are difficult or even downright toxic.

You know,

Focusing on past hurts and not being able to forgive,

Whether it's yourself or others.

And many people,

They repress their negative emotions.

They try to bury them way down so they don't have to sit with them,

So they don't have to deal with them.

But as you and I know,

Unexpressed emotions,

They never go away.

Repressed emotions,

They never die.

They just wait down there for the perfect time to come back up in nastier and uglier ways.

And when they do,

They cause various issues within your life.

And this is why many people say that positive thinking just doesn't work because they spend so much time focusing on building up a strong mindset,

But never do anything to strengthen and develop their emotional life.

But repairing and healing your heart and cultivating a world-class emotional self,

Getting your emotional fitness in order is key alongside your mindset.

The next thing is your spirituality.

It doesn't matter if you're religious or not or what religion you follow.

When I speak about spirit,

I'm talking about that pure,

Beautiful,

Unstained spirit that dwells within each of us.

The one that's our ultimate support,

Our ultimate guide.

The one that has answers to any and every question that we could have in this life.

It knows exactly the path that we need to take so that we can express our gifts in the highest capacity in the world.

Remember,

We are born perfect.

Think on that.

We are born perfect.

Jealousy,

Hatred,

Insecurity,

Scarcity.

Those are traits that were taught to us,

Given to us,

But we weren't born into this world with those traits.

And just like we learned those traits,

We can learn better ones.

So when I say building up your spiritual kingdom,

All I mean is turning down the volume on the outside world so that you can find time to listen to the part of you that is absolutely perfect.

Now,

Listen,

We all know people that are really unhealthy and they live very sedentary lives,

Whether they struggle to get out of bed in the morning,

They don't exercise,

They eat unhealthy foods,

Or they live a life where they have to take a large amount of pills just to make it through their daily life.

It's no way to live,

Right?

And that's not what we want to do.

We want to build up our physical kingdom to where our brain is optimized and our energy is high.

Now when we are doing some type of exercise that cleanses our cortisol,

Ups our dopamine,

And releases serotonin into our brain.

And when we're eating healthier,

We have much more energy and life and clarity to live our most healthiest and best lives.

Now I know some of you say,

I don't really like working out.

Eating healthy is too expensive.

But think about this,

Those who practice healthier habits,

They tend to live longer and live happier.

Even if you're just working out a few minutes a day and choosing one healthier option a day or even a couple healthier options per week,

It can make all the difference in the world.

Because small daily improvements when they're done over time,

They create stunning results.

And this is what we want from our physical kingdom.

And this is what we want from all our inner kingdoms to raise them to the highest level possible.

Now don't mistake me,

Working on one or two of these kingdoms,

You can make unbelievable transformations in your life.

You can have a great life as it pertains to that individual inner kingdom that you are working on.

But when you focus on developing all of them to the highest possible degree,

That's when exponential transformations can occur.

And I believe this is what Jim Rohn meant when he said work harder on yourself than you do at your job.

But remember this,

Your outer world is always a reflection of the quality of your inner world.

Let me say it again,

Your outer world is always a mirror reflection of the quality of your inner world.

What do you think about that?

Personal development has been something that has been a huge part of my life for the last decade or so.

However,

I was one of those people who believed that it was all about the mindset,

Who believed that if I focus just on building up my mindset,

That I would be able to transform my life.

Because I was under the assumption that it was all about what you think.

It was all about keeping a strong bulletproof mindset.

And that was my biggest mistake.

I focused solely on my mindset,

But every so often I found myself frustrated with not being able to make those transformations that I really wanted to make.

Not being able to overcome things that I felt I should have been overcoming.

Achieving things that I felt I should have achieved.

And it just became a loop that I was stuck in where I was constantly getting frustrated.

And I would think that all those people who I admire,

You know,

The spiritual teachers and the leaders and people who are doing great things in the world,

I was just thinking that they were born with something that I wasn't or they were able to do something with their mindset that I wasn't able to do.

Or that there was something in their stars that favored them more than me,

But that wasn't true.

And I really wasn't able to understand this on a deeper level until about a year ago in late 2019.

And that understanding came in the form of a conversation I had with a mentor.

He said,

When you were a baby in your mother's womb,

Before you had a mind,

Before you had a brain,

A functioning body,

You had life.

And that life came from your heartbeat,

Because that is the seat of your spirituality,

Because that is where your spirit lives.

Your unstained,

Polished,

Beautiful spirit lives.

And when you connect back to that part of you,

Elevate your heart and allow that to drive everything else,

You'll find what you seek.

And for me in that conversation,

It was all I needed to hear.

I could sense it.

I could feel it in his energy.

I could see that he was someone who had already done that to an extremely high level.

And over the period of many months after that conversation,

I took that advice and I switched my focus from solely focusing on my mindset to slowing down and connecting back to my heart center.

Now,

It is challenging because you will be faced with so many emotions and you'll come face to face with many realities that let you know that there's still a lot more work to be done than what we may originally believe.

At least it was for me.

Now,

If you do decide to develop certain aspects of your inner world,

Just keep a few things in mind.

Firstly,

There will be times where you have challenges and difficulties.

So be kind and gentle with yourself during the process.

Secondly,

Try not to compare yourself to others.

Everyone's journey is unique.

The way things manifest for me will be very different than how they manifest for you and vice versa.

And lastly,

The results that can occur in your outer world,

They're not instantaneous.

You may go an extended period of time and not really notice any changes in your outer world,

But trust me,

Changes are being made.

In time,

You will begin to see the changes and the shifts that have occurred within your inner world reflected in your outer world.

And if you resonated with anything throughout this conversation,

Then pick it up,

Take it with you,

And see how you can use it to enhance your life.

I came to this talk "by accident" when I was searching for something else. What I found here was I was looking for, thank you so much! The only thing that I found distracting was the background music, I found it hard to understand parts of your talk because of that. It would be helpful if you just turn it down a bit for the next talks/meditations you come to record. Love, love, love!

Thank yoo for a beautifully narrated walk through the 4 Kingdoms: mental, emotional, spiritual and physical. Timer Hidden called these the 4 Rooms of your inner house a,d asked "how much time do you spend in each one of these rooms? Are there any with cobwebs and dust? Get a broom, and activate those rooms. Make an intentional decision to spend solid time in each one." I really appreciated your experience and your generosity in sharing it. Here's to cultivating the 4 Kingdoms! And spending time in each one.
