Hi,
I'm Barbara Murray Lane.
Welcome to my series of heart-centered meditations based on the seasons of the year within a garden.
I invite you to join me in exploring the exterior landscape as well as your personal interior landscape of each season,
Cultivating your own garden in your heart as you move through each seasonal meditation.
Simply listening with openness and curiosity following your own heart's messages.
Perhaps having a journal nearby to record any thoughts or reflections.
And so my friend,
Let's begin.
Come with me.
Listen,
Imagine,
And dream as you walk the path towards the garden of your heart.
Discovering all the gifts and wonder the season of summer has to offer you.
Living with a full heart.
Summer.
Enter the garden where walls melt and trees blossom.
Vibrant quietude.
Maribai star.
Ah,
Summer is here my friend.
Breathing in this season of abundance with this breath in and this breath out.
Settling any restless parts as you rest into a comfortable position to begin once again.
Welcoming the beauty of summer's gifts.
Allowing the warmth of the sun to penetrate your being as you imagine walking on your path on a midsummer's day.
As you enter your garden you are greeted by a spectacular canvas of color.
A mosaic of flowers that surprises and delights your senses.
Roses of yellows and pinks.
Giant sunflowers.
Hosta with bold green leaves.
Black-eyed Susans.
Aca-nasia.
Marigolds.
Strawberry plants.
And more and more.
You bend down to greet the blossom of a flower.
The fragrant smell tickling your nose.
Plant spilling onto your path.
Some brushing your legs as you step over them and gently push aside others as you wander deeper into your garden.
Smells washing over you.
The sun prickly on your skin.
Birds busily singing to one another.
You are awed by all the transformation and abundance around you.
Sprawling undergrowth creeping along the path.
Bushes that have grown full these summer months.
Vines dressing trees.
Ferns proud and full waving as you pass by.
Small grasses.
Soft velvety mosses of the brightest green like a carpet on your bare feet.
Springs awakening energy has transformed your garden into the lushness and fullness of summer.
Summer shares gifts of abundance inviting you to indulge in her beauty through play and creativity while also finding time to rest and linger in this beauty with appreciation and gratitude.
This season moves us towards fullness.
A ripening as we feel our own gifts grow and expand.
Taking it all in as you move slowly along your path.
What else do your senses notice?
The buzzing of insects.
The heat of the sun on your skin.
The brightness of the day.
The powerful smell of flowers and earth.
Noticing a hummingbird feeding nearby on a fuchsia plant.
A welcome guide as your path winds you closer to the center of your garden.
And so finding yourself in the center of your garden.
The loving sprawling branches of an aged tree invites you to rest a while offering shelter from the midday heat.
And so you sit.
Soaking in the warmth,
The beauty,
And energy of your summer's landscape.
The hummingbird accompanies you.
A playful ally in this garden of yours.
A symbol of joy and resilience.
Letting this energy penetrate and expand into the furthest reaches of your heart's face as you rest.
With this breath in and this breath out.
Letting your heart open to the fullness that belongs to you.
Your garden a reflection of this.
What message is being offered as you rest in the shade of the tree with the sound of the hummingbird nearby?
Is there a piece of your heart's growth that longs for play and joy?
Are there weeds or invasive growth that need tending to to make room for playfulness,
Creativity,
Joy,
Or gratitude?
Sitting quietly with the trees supporting you and the hummingbird dancing nearby,
You take the time to wonder about these questions.
Letting your heart sink into the fullness and abundant beauty of your interior landscape with all your gifts.
Resting into your sacred garden space.
Paying attention to the beauty bursting within your heart just as summer bursts with fullness.
Affirmation.
I step into the beauty and fullness in my heart accepting the generosity and abundance that the season of the summer offers me.
I step into the beauty and fullness in my heart accepting the generosity and abundance that the season of summer offers me.
You you Take leave when you are ready with blessings and gratitude.
Journey back to the path to the place of your departure and then back to the present moment recording any part of this journey in your journal.
