Hi,
This is Barbara Murray Lane,
And welcome to my short meditation that will gently guide you to sleep under the watchful eye of the moon.
So begin by gradually closing your eyes,
Settling your body into the welcoming comfort of your bed,
And now sensing the moon's presence watching over you,
Perhaps through your window or a skylight,
Or just in your imagination.
The glow of her light sweeps over your body,
Calming your restless spirit,
Settling the this and that of your thoughts,
The toss and turn of your mind,
The angst of your day.
Letting it all go as her energy balances the waxing and waning of your energy as you ready to sleep.
Hush,
My child,
She whispers in your ear,
Sleep in peace.
I'll watch over you,
Keeping you safe and sound as any mother would do.
I'll watch as your breath deepens with the rise and fall of your belly,
As your limbs gradually surrender and release,
Letting you relax deeply,
Cradled in the cozy warmth of the nest of where you lie,
Feeling both its softness and support.
I see your face soften,
Your shoulders loosen,
Your torso expand,
Your limbs slacken as your body slows down more and more,
Yielding to sleep.
The gentle caresses of my moonlight wash over you,
Tenderly on your almost sleeping form.
Rest now knowing fully,
I am here watching over you,
And if you wake,
Look for me in the night sky,
There you will find me amongst the stars.
I will still be watching over you till dawn brightens the sky and the stars fade.
Sleep now in comfort and dream of all that soothes and calms you,
Knowing that I hold you with love in the fullness of my moonlight as you slumber more and more.
Sleep well and sweet dreams.
