Offering a soothing gateway into the realm of sleep and dreams.
Beginning simply by sinking into the familiar landscape of your bed with comfort and ease,
Wiggling out any restless parts till you find that position that feels just right to immerse yourself in this guided meditation as you prepare to drift off into the realm of sleep.
Beginning the transition to sleep with an awareness of gratitude,
Greeting the night and its darkness as a gracious invitation to restore your body,
Mind,
And spirit.
Taking a moment to silently express gratitude for any part of your day,
Big or small.
Perhaps the abundance you have,
Perhaps the beauty and strength of your body to get through another day.
Pleasant thoughts or interactions that lightened your spirit or jobs completed.
Whatever comes to mind to be thankful for so you can rest with ease of body,
Mind,
And spirit as you transition into sleep.
Feeling the support of your bed,
The weight of your blankets,
The softness of your pillow as you sink into this familiar soothing place of comfort as you gently close your eyes.
Trusting intuitively you know how to sleep,
Knowing that you are in the peaceful and safe sanctuary of your bed.
Beginning by focusing on the breath,
Noticing the inhale and exhale with the rise and fall of your chest and belly,
The slowing of your heartbeat in the darkness behind your eyelids.
Releasing any distracting noises,
Allowing your focus to shift from outward to inward.
Continuing to allow your body to settle and sink into the ebb and flow of your breath in the comfort and support of your bed.
And now imagining a soft glow of golden light above you,
Bringing with it a sense of relaxation,
A heaviness,
And a drowsiness wherever it alights on your being.
The glowing golden light,
Like a sunset,
Begins its descending journey by caressing the crown of your head with gentle kisses across your face,
Down the front and back of your neck,
And into your shoulders.
Spreading a sense of warmth and relaxation wherever it touches.
Muscles,
Tissues,
Joints,
And ligaments releasing tension,
Becoming heavier.
The soft glow of the light,
Now crimson,
Slides down your arms,
Upper arms,
And then lower arms,
And then into your hands,
Letting go of any tension there.
Feeling a sense of heaviness and relaxation instead.
The soft glow of light then brushes across your upper torso,
Shining on your chest and upper back,
And then shimmers on the front of your mid-torso,
Mid-back,
And slips across to your lower torso,
Abdomen,
And lower back.
Softening muscles,
Releasing tension as it continues to bring a sense of heaviness to your body.
The glow of light softly caresses your upper legs,
And then lower legs,
Across your ankles,
Into your feet,
And then down into your toes.
You are completely encased in this golden crimson light,
As if you are a fading sunset transitioning into the night sky.
A deep calmness and sense of relaxation envelops your whole being,
From the crown of your head to the bottom of your feet,
Like a cozy blanket cuddling you in its soothing and comforting energy,
Bringing a luxurious sensation of heaviness to your entire being.
As thoughts drift in and out,
Allow your mind to ease into a restful place,
Letting go of any distracting thoughts,
Worries,
Or concerns that are no longer needed in this moment,
Mirroring the heavy and drowsy state of your body,
Welcoming the realm of dreams and images instead,
Relaxing and releasing with all the light and the breath has to offer,
Sinking more and more into the heaviness of your limbs,
The sanctuary of your bed,
And the drowsiness of your mind.
Finding yourself warmly basking with abandonment into the peaceful sensations of your body,
Mind and spirit in this cozy,
Quiet,
And safe state as you drift off to sleep,
Letting go more and more and more,
Trusting you intuitively know how to sleep,
Knowing that you are safe,
Knowing that your whole being is calm,
Relaxed,
And heavy with sleep,
Knowing your mind is peaceful,
Knowing that all of you is surrounded by light and love,
Knowing the realm of sleep and dreaming carries you away to a peaceful and restful place where restoration happens to body,
Mind,
And spirit.
