Hello and welcome to this yoga practice.
Recorded under the new moon in Leo,
So we will be invoking some fire,
Some heat and then really melt down into some heart openness.
So let's start standing.
If you have a bolster or some pillows,
Amazing.
If you don't,
That's fine too,
We'll make do.
But just really landing in a comfortable position,
Whether that's quite wide with your feet or closer in.
Closing down the eyes if you're comfortable or finding a soft focus at one point in front.
Mating your breath.
Maybe a little sway forward and back or side to side.
And just calling all your energy back to you.
So from all the places that you've been,
All the conversations that you've had,
All the doing,
Imagine all your energy coming back to you now.
Landing you fully in this moment,
Ready to receive,
Ready to connect to your body,
To move with intention.
Start to feel into the support beneath you.
You might have socks on your feet.
You may feel the texture of the mat,
Of the flooring.
And then feeling or guiding your awareness below that to the earth.
Feeling this connection to the earth,
Feeling so held and supported.
Noticing sounds.
Noticing any smell.
Perhaps any taste in your mouth.
And bringing all of your awareness to the breath.
Deep breaths in.
And longer breath sound.
Few more,
Deep breath in.
Long breath out.
And now as you breathe in,
You find this opening into your heart as your palms face forward,
Little bend in the knees,
Shine your face.
Then as you breathe out,
Chin to chest,
Turn your palms to face back,
Open into your back body.
Inhale,
Open into the front body.
And exhale into the back body.
Couple more with your breath,
Deep slow breath.
Your next breath in drawing a nice big circle of the arms up overhead.
Take a breath out,
Bringing hands together,
Home to the heart.
Breath in,
Open the heart,
Shoulders down the back,
Feel your palms touching and breath out,
Bowing in towards the heart space,
Welcoming yourself here this time and space just for you.
Your next breath in,
Let's open the arms out wide,
A bigger opening into the front body,
Maybe feel the skin on the chest stretching.
Your breath out,
Palms back,
Chin to chest,
Open into the back body.
Let's do one more inhale.
And exhale.
Breath in,
Open the arms out wide.
Breath out,
Eagle arm to left,
Take right arm underneath the left,
Either take opposite shoulders back to the hands or the palms.
Breath in,
Open up,
So lift the elbows,
Open through the heart,
And breath out,
Curling in,
Elbows towards tummy,
Chin to chest.
Inhale,
We rise.
And exhale curling and really bending the knees this time.
Let's do two more with the breath.
Ujjayi breath if that's in your practice.
Next time we breathe in,
Let's unravel,
Feel the sensation through the arms,
Open arms,
Reaching up,
Exhale,
Folding all the way down.
Let everything hang heavy for a breath or two here,
Letting the body go,
Releasing the head.
Your next breath in,
Finding a halfway lift.
Breath out,
Let's fold.
Power through the legs,
Inhale rising all the way up.
Exhale folding all the way back down,
Let's flow.
Inhaling for a halfway lift.
Exhale,
Let's fold,
Ground the palms,
Step back to your high plank or your tabletop.
You can always drop the knee.
Take a breath in,
Feel your shoulders apart,
Feel your strength.
Breath out,
We're coming all the way down to the tummy.
Hover your hands,
Point the toes,
Inhale,
Lifting up just your back strength.
Hold for the breath out.
Take another little breath in.
Breath out,
We soften.
Chin to chest.
Inhale,
Pressing back up to your tabletop.
And exhale,
Child's Pose.
Take your knees as wide as you like.
A little sway through the hips.
Take one more breath.
Breath in,
Let's make our way back through tabletop.
Knees underneath the hips.
With your breath out,
We'll round into our cat-shaped chin to chest,
Top of the tail.
Inhale,
Find your cow,
Lower your tummy,
Open your heart,
Lift the tail.
And exhale,
Round into cat.
Couple more rounds with your breath.
Noticing how your spine's moving and feeling.
Next time we breathe out,
Let's bring in a lion's breath.
So open the mouth,
Stick out the tongue,
Sigh it out.
One more of those really let it go.
Big release,
Sticking out the tongue.
Hold here,
Tuck the toes behind you,
Feel that stretch in the soles of the feet.
Hover the knees,
Send the hips back up,
Down dog.
Let's take about three deep slow breaths,
Any little movements.
Really letting the head guard.
Headling out through the legs,
Maybe a sway of the hips.
One last breath.
Taking the breath in,
Tippy toes,
Bent knees,
Gazing forward.
Exhale,
Walk,
Step or hop to the top,
Finding your forward fold.
Your next breath in,
Halfway lift,
Lots of length.
Breath out,
Let's fold.
Power through the legs,
Inhale coming all the way up gathering up the energy.
And exhaling hands to high.
Deep breath into the heart space.
And a long breath out,
Palms forward.
Breath in,
Let's circle the arms up.
Breath out,
Eagle arms once again,
This time left arm underneath.
Either opposite shoulder,
Backs of the hands or the palms meet.
Breath in,
Lift the arms up,
Elbows away from the body.
Feel it in the shoulders,
Open the heart.
Exhale,
Curl in,
Elbows to tummy,
Chin to chest.
Few more with your breath.
Inhale that opening.
And exhale that curling in.
Two more matching the movement to your breath.
Your next breath in let's unravel circle the arms all the way up overhead breath out,
Holding all the way down.
Hands to shins,
Inhaling halfway lift.
Exhale,
Let's fold.
Power through the legs,
Inhale coming all the way up,
Gathering up the energy.
Exhale,
Let's fold straight back down.
Inhaling your halfway lift.
Exhale,
Let's fold,
Ground the palms,
Step or jump,
High plank or table,
Take a breath in.
Breath out,
Let's come all the way down.
Power through the legs.
This time,
Hands stay lightly grounded.
Inhale,
Cobra,
Shoulders roll back.
Heart opens,
A little lift again.
Exhale,
Soften the heart,
Then the head.
Twice more with your breath.
Good,
Chin to chest at the bottom.
Tuck the toes from your core.
Inhale,
Tabletop.
Exhale,
Child's Pose.
Take the knees as wide as you like.
Little sway through the hips,
Take a nice full breath.
Breath in,
Let's return to our tabletop knees underneath the hips.
Start to ground into the left hand,
Your next breath in will raise either right elbow or right hand,
Pressing down to reach up.
Breath out,
Let's thread it underneath,
Just hover above the earth.
Inhale,
Peel and open.
And exhale,
Threading through.
One more time with your breath.
Third time relaxing all the way down shoulder and ear to the mat.
So find the sweet spot for that left hand,
Maybe you walk your fingers to the top of the mat.
Maybe reach for the sky or even your right hip.
How does your body feel in this shape?
Take a full breath.
Let's bring that left hand back underneath the shoulder,
Press down,
Feel the texture of the mat.
Inhale,
Lifting up,
Reach through those right fingers,
And exhale,
We'll soften.
Good,
One round of cat-cow in between sides with your breath.
Find that neutral spine,
Ground into the right hand now.
Inhale,
Raise either left elbow or left hand.
Our thread and just hover.
Twice more with your breath.
And on this final round,
Relaxing shoulder and ear to the mat.
The right fingers can walk to the top,
They can reach for the sky or even the left hip.
Take a full breath.
Reach those right fingers back up,
Back underneath the shoulder,
Ground in,
Inhale,
Peel left arm towards the sky one last time.
And exhale,
We'll lower down.
Ground through both hands.
Round the spine into your cat shape.
Tuck your toes.
Hover your knees.
Send the hips back up.
Down dog.
Three deep,
Slow breaths.
Relaxing the head,
The neck,
The jaw.
Extending your tail up.
That pressing energy through the hands,
Through spread fingers.
Your next breath in,
Tippy toes bent,
Knees gazing forward.
Exhale,
Walk,
Step or hop to the top,
Finding your forward fold.
Your breath in a halfway lift.
Breath out let's fold power through the legs inhale coming all the way up gathering up the energy and exhaling hands to heart deep breath in And long breath out.
Let's start to slow it down into more grounding yin practice.
But firstly,
Take a moment,
Notice what you feel moving beneath your skin.
You might feel that tingling of fresh blood and energy.
Feeling perhaps more in your body in this moment here now.
In alignment with all that's possible.
Your next breath in,
Let's circle the arms up.
Breath out folding all the way down.
Inhaling your halfway lift.
Breath out,
Let's fold.
Ground your palms,
This time step straight to your down dog.
Take two breaths.
Right,
And then we're going to drop the knees straight down into a child's pose.
Knees as wide as you like,
Big toes together.
Hips to heels.
Find the comfortable position for the arms.
We won't be here for so long,
But you can always make a little pillow with your forearms to rest your head.
We'll take about three deep slow breaths.
Let's slowly transition to a tabletop.
Knees underneath the hips and then make our way down into our tummy.
To stretch that left arm out beside us coming into an open wing shape.
Bend through the right knee.
Right hand underneath the shoulder.
We're going to press through that right hand,
Roll ourselves over the left arm.
Your left ear will come down to the mat.
So we're looking and just feeling an opening through that left arm,
Through the skin on the chest.
Take your time finding the sweet spot.
You can rest your right arm in front,
Maybe even as a pillow.
You might like to take it behind your back or somewhere in between.
Let's just breathe and melt into this shape.
You can always use your support underneath your legs or in between them.
But let's use each breath out to encourage a release.
Heaviness.
This sense of letting go.
Common areas to check in with for any tension to release.
Pelvic floor.
And we soften.
The jaw,
The brows,
The temples.
Just letting your whole body sink into this shape.
We're coming into our last minute so just noticing.
Is there any way in which I can relax that little bit more?
Is my mind here?
Am I in this moment receiving the joy of this moment?
Or am I elsewhere in my thoughts and my to-do's?
Let's take five last breaths,
Five deep slow breaths.
Maybe a sigh at that final breath there.
Really slowly starting to unravel,
Take your time.
Slowly returning to your tummy.
You might feel a little bit fragile.
There's no rush.
So just find yourself in a comfortable position here.
Maybe that's both arms long beside the body.
Maybe you make a little pillow to rest your forehead.
And just feel the difference between left arm and right arm.
All those fire meridians running up and down the arms.
So in particular focusing on the heart.
This new moon all revolving around the heart,
So encouraging that flow in the body.
Let's start to transition into the second side.
So now we'll stretch the right arm out beside us.
Left hand will come underneath the shoulder,
Lift the left foot.
We're going to slowly roll ourselves over that right arm.
Take your time to find the sweet spot,
Find the perfect position for your left hand.
Meet your breath.
Encourage that heaviness.
Noticing any difference between the sides,
Knowing that is so normal.
Checking in with those common areas of tension,
The pelvic floor,
The jaw,
Can you soften?
A big sigh out at any point as we're in our last minute.
Let's take three last breaths,
Deeper and slower.
Taking your time to really slowly unravel.
Now if you're not comfortable laying on your tummy you can always roll over to your back.
I'm comfy in my tummy so I'll say stay put so either arms long beside the body or making a little pillow to rest your head.
And this beautiful time to observe the effects,
To feel the sensations now down the right arm.
Fresh blood,
Fresh energy flowing.
To check in on all the levels mental.
Physical,
Emotional,
Noticing what's showing up in the heart.
And feel free to just bathe in stillness.
If you like a little movement here and you're on your tummy,
That might look like lifting the feet,
Dropping the feet from side to side.
If you're on your back,
Maybe giving the knees a cuddle into the chest.
As those sensations start to soften.
And let's make our way into our final shape.
So slowly transitioning up.
Finding a sink.
Getting your bolster if you have one.
Just placing that back behind you can always prop it up with a block so you put a block underneath the head end or some books.
If you don't have a ball,
So just come to lay down on your back.
We're coming into a heart openness and really scooching up so your low back is meeting the bolster and then reclining back,
Finding that beautiful opening in your heart.
Comfortable position for your legs,
Whatever that looks like.
It might be soles of the feet together,
Knees out wide to encourage an opening into the hips.
Maybe it's legs long,
The low back's a little bit touchy,
Constructive rest,
Feet wide and knees knocking in.
Feel your heart space so nice and open.
Take those little adjustments.
Meet your breath.
Encourages sinking,
Softening with each breath out,
Sweet release.
Guiding your awareness to the heart.
And you feel as though you're breathing in and out of the heart space.
Your heart expanding as you breathe in,
Softening as you breathe out.
Feeling like you're breathing into the bolster and the back door of the heart pressing down.
And then softening with the breath out.
Staying connected to your heart,
Breath flowing in and out of the heart space.
And just checking in with your heart.
What brings me joy?
And just allowing whatever comes up.
Come up,
Maybe it's images,
Maybe it's memories of a really joyous time.
What brings me joy?
Can I bring in more joy in the next few days?
Penciling in a little time to really embody that joy to take up that space.
Allow it to bring a smile to your face.
And when you think about that,
That joyous version of you,
So lit up.
What do they want?
What is their deepest heartfelt desire for you and this life,
This precious life,
What do they want?
Maybe an intention is forming here.
Let's breathe from the heart.
Notice what comes up.
You bring to mind now three things that you're grateful for,
Truly grateful for.
You're welcome to finish this practice here,
Laying extended out as long as you like.
And start to guide one hand onto the heart,
One hand onto the lobe.
Feel your hands rise as you breathe in.
Soften as you breathe out.
Acknowledging yourself for taking the time to practice.
Get that beautiful fire energy moving in the body.
Coming back to your joy,
That commitment to yourself.
Follow your joy.
Sending you so much love.
Thank you so much.
It's such a pleasure for me.
Namaste.
