Please get comfortable.
Once you are sitting comfortably,
Please place each hand on each thigh,
Palms facing up,
And touch your pointer finger and thumb together.
This is a heart chakra mudra.
By using this gesture,
You are intending to help create a flow of energy in your heart chakra and body.
Now I would like you to begin to pay attention to your breath.
As you breathe,
Feel the breath filling up your belly.
Inhale,
Your belly gets bigger.
Exhale,
Your belly retracts back towards your spine.
Feel as each inhale,
Your belly seems to get bigger and bigger.
The breath expands from your belly and heads up towards your chest.
Exhale and feel as the belly retracts.
Inhale,
It expands out and fills your legs and travels into your feet.
You feel your whole body breathing now and with every inhale,
Your breath and body continues to expand.
It feels like a flowing rhythm as you breathe.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Breathing at your own pace now,
But noticing how your body still feels to be expanding with every breath.
Your breath is now filling your entire physical body and is entering your energy body.
You can feel each refreshing breath cleansing your whole entire being now.
Breathing in love,
Light and wisdom.
Breathing out any feelings that are no longer serving you.
You don't have to give these feelings a name or pay them any mind.
Just feel how good it feels to release that tension and negative energy from your body.
Feel how good it feels to inhale that light,
Loving,
Positive,
Happy energy.
Feel it through every ounce of your being,
Radiating.
Now,
I want you to imagine the perfect bedroom.
Whatever is perfect to you,
The most beautiful walls,
Floors,
Paintings,
Cabinets and finally what does the bed look like?
You have now been transported to this room and you realize that this room belongs to you.
This is your bed.
How does it feel for this room to be yours and belong to you?
No other elements of your life and how you got to this room are important right now.
All that is important is that this is your room and you get to take a nap on this bed.
Looking at the clean,
Perfect sheets on your bed,
On the count of three,
You are going to jump onto this bed.
One,
Two,
Three.
You jump onto the bed and are instantly engulfed by the wonderful soft blanket.
How do the blankets feel as they surround and wrap around you?
They are so warm,
So soft and they smell so good.
You almost instantly drift off into a wonderful sleep.
It feels like you haven't been asleep very long when you are awakened by a soft tapping at the window.
You open your eyes and almost in disbelief you see a child knocking from the outside of the window.
This person is vaguely familiar but right now you can't make out their face and you aren't exactly sure who you are looking at.
You get up out of bed and walk towards the window to let the child in.
However,
As soon as you grab them by the hand to help them inside,
They begin to pull you up,
Up and away you float.
Strangely you don't feel panic,
You feel calm.
You continue to float through the air watching the town get smaller and smaller behind you.
Whisping through the clouds you can no longer make out your town,
You can only see the mass of land and the oceans beneath you.
Higher and higher you float until you can see the entire earth.
Farther and farther yet you float,
You pass the sun.
You are now with the stars.
You trust this little person.
Notice how peaceful and beautiful everything is up here alone with this child.
You are slowing down now and coming closer and closer to one star in particular.
Was it a star or was it a planet?
As you continue to grasp the hand of the little person,
You notice that you are being taken to a whole new place.
You can see a whole new planet.
What does it look like from afar?
As you get closer and closer you can see that you are heading towards a jungle.
You can see so much green.
The most beautiful rich colors of green you have ever seen.
Far more colorful and vibrant than any green that you have seen on earth.
It almost sparkles.
In fact it does sparkle so much that it shines.
You and the child travel closer and closer to this jungle until you have landed softly.
Look around.
What do you see here in the jungle?
Are there any animals or interesting plants?
How does the ground feel beneath your feet?
The child you arrived with takes you by the hand and leads you down a path.
As you walk down the path,
Continue to notice the beautiful green plants surrounding you.
You notice that the trail is getting narrower and the brush is getting thicker as you are lead deeper and deeper into the jungle.
You feel safe.
You come out on the other side of the trail and enter a small jungle town.
On this planet there are no adults,
Only children.
You look around and see little jungle homes created by these children.
The whole town feels so fun and so happy.
You become aware that none of these children can see you.
You are here to witness and be a bystander.
You watch as these children interact.
The child who brought you here lets go of your hand and leaves you in the jungle to run off and play with their friends.
Here there are no worries.
Here the children are happy and free to be themselves.
The animals are their friends.
They build forts.
Watch the children interact happily here.
Feel the energy of this place.
This energy reminds you of a time when you were young.
A time when you were interacting happily with your peers,
With no worries in the world.
What thought comes to your mind now?
With that carefree,
Childlike energy,
It feels now as though you can almost replay the scene from the same view you had at that early age.
Replay this image in your head and let yourself be reminded how good it felt to be a child.
Off in the distance,
You notice that the little child who brought you to this wonderful,
Strange land is now sitting by themselves,
Crying.
You feel a strong sense to go over and see what is wrong.
The child is crying because someone hurt their feelings.
Suddenly almost as if out of nowhere,
A memory comes to you from the distant past where someone really hurt your feelings.
But you were very small and you didn't really understand what was happening at the time.
What is this memory?
Feel into this energy now.
Feel the intensity.
It might even hurt as you are brought back to the same perspective you had as a child.
Seeing and feeling through your inner child's eyes.
And now you can see this hurtful experience from the perspective of an adult.
You can understand the experience better.
And now you know exactly what to say to the child that is crying next to you.
Now is your chance to tell the child the words they need to hear to make them feel better.
Hear the words coming out of your mouth now.
You know exactly what to say.
When you are finished telling the child these powerful words,
Their face suddenly becomes less blurry.
You can look right into their eyes.
And now you know why this person felt so familiar from the start.
This little person is you.
You love this child so much and you can feel the inner child in yourself,
Warm and happy from all of the love.
There is so much innocence all around us every day.
It is so easy to get caught up in the busyness and stress of the human world.
But deep down,
All of us have this little person inside of us.
This child who wants to play,
Wants to be nurtured,
Wants to love,
Wants to have fun.
It is easy to neglect this child.
You apologized to little you for all the times you neglected them and made yourself feel like these basic human wants and needs were not wrong or not okay.
You know now what this planet is.
This is the place where all the inner children of earth go while we sleep.
This inner child exists in all of us.
The true essence of who we are and what we like will always be the same,
No matter what our age.
Now knowing that this little child is you and knowing what you have gone through in life up until this point,
What is a message you would like to give to your inner child?
What is something you would like to tell them?
Now is the time.
Simply give this message to your inner child.
You feel a huge sense of relief wash over your body as the words you used to help your inner child have also given you the chance to help and heal yourself now in the present moment.
You are so proud for all you have accomplished while visiting this planet.
You love this little child immensely.
You love you immensely.
As you begin to float away from this beautiful green jungle of a planet,
You begin to think about what it would be like on earth if everyone spoke to and treated each other as though they were talking to their inner children.
From here it is easy to see that time and circumstance change a person,
But deep down we are all just like that child,
Seeking love,
Fun,
And warmth.
It is important to show love to yourself always as though you are loving your inner child.
The more you love and honor your basic needs as a human,
The more you will feel passionate and worthy to express yourself and who you really are.
Just as you did when you were a child before others told you that what you were feeling was wrong.
When you love and honor your needs,
It is easier for you to be compassionate towards others and their individual needs.
Floating closer to your perfect bedroom now with a new found sense of self,
You forgive yourself for all the times you neglected your inner child and therefore your basic needs as an adult.
You now recognize the importance of self-love and self-care.
You feel at one with your inner child as you notice they did not follow you back to the bedroom.
Life feels simple,
Light,
And carefree as you nuzzle yourself back into your big perfect bedroom,
Feeling the blankets wrap around you as once again you drift off to sleep.
Breathing deeply now,
Feel your physical body calling you back to the place you began this meditation.
You feel full of energy like you just had an eight hour sleep.
You feel your inner child coming back to you in the physical world and you know now that you will consciously and subconsciously treat yourself and others with a little more compassion.
Inhaling,
Feeling all the love surround you.
Exhaling,
Feeling grounded and refreshed.
Inhaling,
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
Exhaling,
Feeling the seat beneath you.
Exhaling,
Feeling grounded and refreshed.
Inhaling,
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
Exhaling,
Feeling the seat beneath you.
And one more time,
Inhaling,
Opening your eyes,
Feeling refreshed,
Invigorated,
And loved.
