Hello and welcome friend.

Thank you for taking the time today to unwind and find a place to ground yourself in this space.

So let's just take a couple moments and bring our awareness to our breath.

Just focusing on its natural rhythm of inhale and exhale.

Just allowing it to find its own rhythm and its own pace.

Knowing that there is nothing you need to do or be in this moment.

And you can find a position either sitting up or lying down.

Either on the floor or on a chair or on a couch or bed.

Whatever feels most comfortable to you.

Just allow that breath of inhale to bring a wave of relaxation that starts at the top of your head and goes down to your toes.

And on the inhale you're just allowing yourself to bring in peacefulness and relaxation.

And on your exhale you're letting go of any tension or stress.

Letting go,

Letting this moment of meditation be your meditation.

And you are in complete control of this experience.

Notice how the sound of my voice and the sound of the music take you deeper and deeper into relaxation.

Any other sounds that you may hear are just the sounds of everyday living.

And they too can take you deeper and deeper into relaxation.

And just allowing yourself to bring that breath of life into your lungs and out.

Just allowing this moment to support you.

Letting the breath be just as it is.

Without trying to change or regulate it in any way.

Allowing it to flow easily and naturally.

Knowing you are breathing perfectly well right now.

And there is nothing for you to do.

And in this space I want you to draw your attention to your heart center.

That space that is right in the middle of your chest.

And just notice the rise and the fall of your chest as you breathe.

And in that space I want you to bring an image of a person,

A pet,

A place that brings you so much joy.

And just allow your mind's eye or your imagination to bring that image forth.

And place that in your heart center.

And really feel into that sense of joy and gratitude and love.

As you sense or see that image in your heart center.

And now visualize that image just glowing.

Just sense that feeling of love and joy and gratitude growing as well.

You may even want to put your hand on your chest.

And in this moment in your mind's eye I want you to say the words calm and relaxed.

Calm and relaxed to yourself.

And just feel that very warm radiating sense of love and joy and gratitude.

Feel that heart center and say the words to yourself calm and relaxed.

And any time you want to come back to this very relaxed,

Very peaceful place.

All you have to do is place your hand on your heart and say the words calm and relaxed.

And that very image will return to your heart center.

And you can come back to this very peaceful,

Very relaxed place of being.

And now experiencing just the sensation of peacefulness.

I want you to allow your body to be still.

And really bring in a sense of dignity and worthiness into your awareness.

A sense of resolve,

A sense of being complete and whole in this very moment.

And just allow your body to really absorb this sense of wholeness.

And as you sit here,

Let an image form in your imagination of the most magnificent or beautiful mountain you know or have seen or that you can even imagine.

Just let it gradually come into your greater focus.

And even if it doesn't come as a image,

Allow yourself to get a sense of this mountain.

And it's feeling,

It's overall shape,

It's lofty peak or peaks that go high into the sky.

The large base rooted in the bedrock of the earth's crust.

It's steep or gently sloping sides.

Just notice how massive,

How solid,

How unmoving,

How strong and beautiful this mountain is.

Regardless if you're looking at it from afar or if you're looking at it up close.

And maybe your mountain has snow peaks on its tops.

Or trees going down its sloping sides.

Or granite rocks jetting out.

Or maybe streams or waterfalls cascading down.

And there may be a sense of meadows and high lakes across its sides.

Just really get a sense and observe this mountain in all of its majestic strength.

Noticing all of its qualities,

Its characteristics.

And when you feel ready,

See if you can bring that image into your body sitting or lying down here.

So that your body and the mountain that's in your imagination become one.

And that as you sit here,

You share in that massiveness and that stillness and that groundedness of the mountain.

You are the mountain and the mountain is you.

And really grounded in this strength,

Your head now becomes a lofty peak of the mountain.

And it's supported by the rest of the body and it's afforded a panoramic view.

And your shoulders and arms are the sides of the mountain.

And your hips and legs are the solid base rooted in the cushion or on the floor.

Just experiencing in your body a sense of uplift from deep within the base of your spine.

And with each breath as you continue sitting or lying here,

You're becoming more and more like a breathing mountain.

Alive and vital,

Yet unmoved in your inner stillness.

Completely what you are beyond words,

Beyond thoughts.

You become a centered,

Grounded,

Unmoving presence in this moment.

You are the mountain and the mountain is you.

And as you sit or lie here,

You become aware of the fact that as the sun travels across the sky,

The light and the shadows and colors are changing moment by moment in this mountain stillness.

And the surface moves with life and activity and streams and melting snow and plants and wildlife scurry about their day.

As the mountain sits,

Seeing and feeling how night turns into day and day turns into night.

The bright,

Warming sun is followed by a cool night sky.

And yet,

Always following the dawning of a new day.

And through it all,

The mountain just sits,

Experiencing change in every moment.

Constantly changing,

Yet always just being itself.

It remains still as the seasons flow into one another.

And as the weather changes moment by moment and day by day,

The mountain's calmness abides it all.

And you are the mountain and the mountain is you.

And in summer,

There is no snow on the mountain except at the very high peaks.

And in the fall,

The mountain may wear a beautiful coat of brilliant fire colors.

And in winter,

It is covered and blanketed with snow and ice.

And yet,

In any season,

The mountain may find itself at times covered with clouds or fog or pelted by freezing rain.

People may come to see the mountain and comment on how beautiful it is.

Or comment on how it's such a not good day to see the mountain because it's too cloudy or rainy or foggy or dark.

And yet,

None of this matters to the mountain.

The mountain always remains at all times itself.

Clouds may come and clouds may go.

Tourists may like it or tourists may not.

The mountain's magnificence and beauty are not changed one bit by people's opinions.

It's not changed one bit due to sun or clouds,

Heat or coolness,

Day or night.

The mountain just sits being itself.

And at times,

The mountain is visited by violent storms,

Buffeted by snow and rain and winds of unthinkable magnitude.

And through it all,

The mountain sits.

And you are the mountain and the mountain is you.

And yet,

Spring comes and trees leaf out.

Flowers bloom in the high meadows and slopes and birds sing their love songs in trees once again.

And streams flow with the waters of melting snow.

And through it all,

The mountain continues to sit.

Unmoved by the weather,

By what happens on the surface,

By the world of appearances and opinions.

The mountain remaining essentially itself.

Through the seasons,

The changing weather,

The activity of the coming and the going.

And you are the mountain and the mountain is you.
