Hello,
Today we're going to relax our bodies and then we'll connect with our heart and lastly examine where in our lives we can open our hearts and create a boundary instead of a wall.
So gently close over your eyes now and sit a little deeper into your chair and starting at the crown of your head,
Relax the muscles around your skull,
Relax your face,
Open your mouth a little bit to release your jaw.
Relax the muscles going down your neck,
Bring your shoulders down your back.
Release the muscles in your abdomen,
Relax your hips,
Relax your legs and lastly relax your feet.
Now from this space of openness and relaxation,
Imagine that you're sitting by a tree alongside a river.
The sun is shining and you can hear birds chirping in the distance.
It is a peaceful,
Serene place for rest and you can't help but feel grateful for the beauty all around you.
You look over at the water and decide to sit down next to the water's edge.
You look down into the crystal clear water and an image appears.
You see a person with whom you've built a wall around your heart and can no longer give or receive love from.
You may start to feel constriction in your chest or heart space just picturing this person and that's okay.
Just breathe through this feeling and don't push it away.
With each breath,
The pain of this subsides so continue breathing through any feelings that arise with the image of this person.
As you look into the water and really stare into this person's eyes,
See how alike you truly are.
They are human.
They are love and light in their core and they deserve the same in life that you do.
So if you're ready now,
Let's go ahead and let down this wall around your heart toward this person.
You can place your hand on your heart if you like and imagine your breath going in and out of the space around your heart.
As you breathe in,
Your lungs and chest fill and rise and as you breathe out,
Your heart and chest fall.
Continue this cycle of breathing on your own,
Not forcing it,
Just allowing your awareness to rest in your heart space.
Observing your breath in this area for the next few breaths.
Feel the wall crumbling and your heart opening like a lotus flower,
Rising out of the mud and muck it's been stuck in for so long and blooming,
Appreciating the sun on each of its petals and the clean,
Refreshing air above water.
If any thoughts or old stories about this person should arise,
Just allow them to come up and observe them as if you were watching an old movie on a screen.
This movie is showing you where you want to set a boundary with this person.
If the memory comes up that is something from your childhood and feels really triggering or fearful,
Try to think of the most recent time this situation has triggered this fear.
Whatever this movie shows you is where you are still hurting.
By seeing this pain,
You are helping to release it so let it come up.
You may still need to set a boundary around this situation or person to help you not close your heart completely.
So ask your heart where in this relationship can I set a boundary so that I can keep the love flowing between this person and me.
Direct this question into your heart space,
Continuing to just breathe in your heart and listen.
You may not hear anything right away but this boundary will come to you within the next few days,
Maybe in a sign or thought in the shower or another meditation.
Trust that the exact right step for you to take in this relationship is coming to you soon.
And as our practice is coming to a close,
Have gratitude for the work you did here today.
Every step you take towards keeping your heart open in difficult situations is aligning you more with your natural state of love and wellbeing.
Really great work today my friend.
I wish you a peaceful day ahead.
Namaste.
