Tapping into the confidence that's always there inside of you.
Watching the rise and fall of your chest as it expands and as it contracts.
As the muscles move around your ribcage,
As you notice your back moving slightly as your lungs rise and fall.
As they rise and as they fall.
Now watch the air as it flows in and out of your nostrils.
In and out.
Gently brushing the air over your top lip.
As the breath itself goes in and out.
And as you lie here,
Gently breathing,
Focusing on nothing but your breath and the words that I am saying,
I want you to allow yourself to unwind.
Allow yourself to unravel and let all of your cares and all of your worries slip away.
In this moment here they are not useful to you,
So let them go.
Slip away the doubt.
Slip away the self-criticism.
Allow all of your insecurities and your fears of rejection to just melt away.
I want you now to connect with that deeper part of you that is at your core,
That is beyond all that self-doubt and self-criticism that you have now stripped bare.
This is the part of you that knows it has a mission and a purpose far beyond the doubts and worries that it is so often covered by.
Tap into the energy that flows through your body as you lie here,
Basking in the glow of what it feels like to have that inner confidence,
Noticing that inner guidance for where you should be in life and what you should be doing.
Notice that that energy,
That part of you,
Is always there,
Even during the times you pretend that it is not.
I want you to imagine that that inner confidence,
Connected to your intuition and to your inner guidance system,
Is always there for you,
But it is kept on a dial.
Up until now you have had it set on the dial quite low on this particular thermostat,
So that it is easy for others and for you not to notice that this confidence is there.
In your mind's eye,
I want you to turn the thermostat dial up until it is at,
Say,
Eight or nine or even ten.
Notice that you can turn this inner confidence up so it is far more in your awareness.
Now that you have turned up the dial,
Notice how it feels to know that you can now use that dial whenever you like.
And with that dial turned up,
Observe the colour of that feeling through your body.
Observe the warmth of it,
The sensation as that inner confidence travels through your body.
Notice if there is a shape to that feeling of inner confidence and where in your body it likes to rest and make itself known.
Allow that sensation and that feeling to wash right through you and enjoy how it feels to embrace your full inner confidence.
Take a moment now to fully immerse yourself in that feeling.
And now I want you to leave and I want you to relax.
And now I want you to leave that dial on a number of your choosing so that you know you can carry this sensation and self-knowledge with you.
Once you have set the dial at the number most useful to you so that you know your inner confidence is always there.
When you know the dial is firmly set and that you can return to this thermostat of inner confidence whenever you like,
Open your eyes and come back in the vein.
