Shed the outer exterior of what we cannot control, and dive deep into our inner world. We can control how we react to uncertain times, and through meditation we can start to build tools that can help us with this.

Hello and welcome to Earth Sounds.

I'm Annabelle.

And I'm Anna.

We hope you are well today.

Before we begin,

We just wanted to take a moment to say that we are so grateful that you have tuned in today so we can practice together.

Whether you have given us feedback on our previous recording,

Subscribed to our newsletter or have just arrived today,

It means the world for us to be able to share our passion with you and be on this path to wellbeing with you.

So we just really,

We're really moved by this and we just wanted to say thank you.

So today we're going to take you through a yoga nidra and sound healing that will focus on surrendering to the unknown.

This practice helps the body connect with its natural ability to heal and invites us to go inward.

During these times of uncertainty,

This practice can help to let go of what is happening around us.

The outer exterior that we cannot control and dive deep into what we can control,

Our inner world.

Peace begins with you.

In life,

We can go through many different seasons.

These journeys normally require change,

An element of letting go of the control,

Trusting the process and surrendering to the unknown.

For some,

This can be super difficult and invoke much anxiety and stress.

I know for me in particular,

I can definitely feel this.

We cannot control what happens to us,

But we can control how we react to uncertain times.

And we can use meditation as a tool to help us work through this.

In our meditation today,

I'm going to be drawing upon a mantra as my inspiration for the sign I'll be creating.

The mantra I'll be focusing on is the Anusara invocation Om Namah Shivaya,

Which is a beautiful mantra taken from the teachings of Anusara Yoga.

At the heart of the Anusara practice are the life affirming principles opening to grace and aligning with the divine in each of us.

Its emphasis on the embodiment of grace are designed to open our hearts to life's possibilities,

Creating vibrancy and peace in our body,

Mind and spirit and becoming a guide for our life on and off the mat.

The words of the mantra are Om Namah Shivaya Gaurave,

Satya Tananda Murtaye,

Nisprapanchaya Shantaaya Niralambaya Te Shase.

Om,

Which translate beautifully to I open myself to the light that lives in us as goodness,

That never is absent and radiates peace and lights the way to transformation.

So go ahead and get comfortable.

Maybe you want to lay on the floor,

Your bed,

A yoga mat,

Grab a blanket or a pillow,

Whatever you need to feel your most comfortable.

Perhaps just pause the recording quickly and just grab whatever you need just to make sure that you are comfortable for this practice so you can fully let go.

Adjust everything,

Your body,

Position and close.

Just try to be completely comfortable to a space where there is little to no movement.

In Yoga Nidra we set an intention,

A Senkaupa.

It's a personal sacred vow and a heartfelt positive feeling that we want to invite into our mind,

Body and soul.

For example yours might be,

I am courageous.

I am strong.

So just take the next few moments to come up with your own intention,

That personal heartfelt positive feeling that you want to invite into your practice today.

And for this practice the one that Anna and I would like to set for us all,

The seed of intention for today will be to surrender to the unknown and trust in the best outcome.

Just repeat that in your head.

I will surrender to the unknown and trust in the best outcome.

Completely surrendering to the unknown and trusting in the best outcome.

Welcome to Yoga Nidra.

Taking that intention with you,

Closing your eyes,

Know that you are supported by the earth beneath you so you can truly and completely let go.

Without changing anything,

Just fully follow your breath.

Feel the inhale flow through your body and on every exhale envision your body relaxing more into the earth.

You are supported so you don't need to hold on to anything.

You don't need to envision where you are or what's happening next in your life.

Just be here in this moment.

Feeling your muscles relax and the stillness flood through you in every breath.

The only thing you have to do right now is to listen to my voice.

Few deep easy breaths.

In order to go inwards,

You need to relax the physical outer shell taking you to that place between sleep and wake.

Relaxing the physical body allowing you to fully let go and practice the art of not trying to be in control.

Let go of that physical tension to release and relax and let the experience wash over you.

Starting from the corner of your left eye,

Your left eyebrow,

Your left forehead,

The left side of your head,

The left ear,

The left jaw,

The left cheek,

The left temple,

A lens of the left side of the body relaxing,

The tension washing away from the corner of your left eye,

Your left eyebrow,

Your left forehead,

The left jaw,

The left cheek,

The left temple,

A lens of the left side of the body relaxing,

The tension washing away from the corner of your right eye,

The right eyebrow,

The right forehead,

Relaxing fully,

Releasing all tension,

Your body is relaxed,

Trust in the process,

Your body is relaxed,

Become aware of your breath,

Feel the flow of your breath in and out of your lungs,

Do not try to change the rhythm,

Your breathing is natural,

You are not doing it,

There is no effort,

It flows even when you aren't controlling it,

Maintain awareness of your breath,

Continue complete awareness,

Do not get attached to the breath,

It will come and go but it will continue on,

Just trust the process,

You are breathing,

You are relaxed,

Take a moment to go within,

We are guided and supported here,

It's safe to go within,

You are safe here,

You are safe here,

Safe,

Visualize a candle,

Envision you lighting the match and begin burning this candle,

The candle is burning,

Watch it flicker,

Staring into the candle,

Watching the flame flicker,

Now take a moment to envision the candle and it begins to flicker within you,

Bringing a sense of light within,

Among the darkness there is light,

There is you,

You all have a flame and we are connected by this flame,

This light within,

Watch it grow brighter within you,

See the light shine through you,

Starting from your toes,

The burning candle is flickering,

Shining,

Feeling a sense of glow and lightness associated with the flicker of the candle as it flickers and burns throughout your legs,

Feeling light,

Sense the glow,

See the bright light within,

Making its way to your hips,

To your back,

All through your arms,

The light is shining all the way to your fingertips,

Flickering,

All the way till you reach your heart and your mind,

You are glowing in light,

Anything is possible,

Even without controlling this light,

It still flickers within you,

You have this light within us,

Shines brightly within,

Remember your intention and together the surrender to this moment,

Trust together that there is light,

The light is still there and the best is yet to come.

Allow the light to be ignited.

The vibrations of this sound,

Your flame is ignited,

Your light is shining brighter than ever,

You are safe here,

You are surrendering but you are safe.

The light is shining all the way to your hips,

Feeling light,

Sense the glow,

See the bright light within,

Feeling light,

The light is shining brighter than ever,

You are safe here,

You are surrendering but you are safe here,

Feeling light,

Sense the glow,

Sense the natural occurring sensations or emotions that you may be feeling and just relax all efforts,

Drawing your mind outside of you,

Become aware of your natural breath,

You are breathing awareness of your body and your breath,

Your body is lying totally relaxed on the floor,

The new sense of new beginnings,

Become aware of the floor and the position of your body lying on the floor,

Visualise the room around you,

Visualise your surroundings,

Lie quietly for some time but keep your eyes closed until you are ready and then you can begin to start moving your body,

Please take your time,

Do not hurry,

Be sure you are wide awake,

Have a little moment of stretching and then when you are slowly coming back into the room just sit up and open your eyes,

The practice of yoga nidra is now complete,

We really wish for you to take this practice with you today and remember this feeling of strength and hope throughout your day,

Remember that light,

I hope for all of us in these times of uncertainty that we can stay grounded,

I believe you can reach your own personal inner peace,

We all have it,

It's there right within you,

The more you practice these meditations the more you will access this inner peace and feel it within you as you go about your days.
