Angela Rose here,

Meditation instructor and self-love coach.

And today we are talking about how to show up shaking.

I'm going to share a quote with you,

Actually a couple of quotes by Brené Brown that really shine the light on the subject.

And it goes like this,

Vulnerability is not winning or losing,

It's having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.

Vulnerability is not weakness,

It's our greatest measure of courage.

We will never feel 100% ready to do anything.

I can remember back to a time when I share this,

But it was when I first started my business and I did my first speaking event and it was in front of a room of 50 people.

Now you may not think that's very many people,

But to me it was.

And they were all business men and women,

Executives.

I was so nervous.

I was waiting out in the hallway,

Waiting for them to call my name.

And I remember just practicing my speech,

Practicing and practicing all day long.

I was so nervous,

I didn't eat that day,

Just water.

And I remember thinking it's not too late.

I could literally back out now.

No one in that room knows who I am.

I could totally back out.

I could do it.

I could go right now.

I remember just in the hall,

Just thinking,

I could flee the scene shamelessly.

No one would know.

And I thought,

No,

I have to do this.

At the time I was working a full-time job and I had told more than several people because I was so proud of myself that I actually booked and followed through on this gig that I was doing it.

I could not go back and tell them I did not do it.

So at the time I did it more to avoid telling them I didn't do it.

And I said to myself,

Show up shaking,

Show up shaking.

Just show up,

Angie,

Show up,

Walk in that room.

They don't know you're shaking.

They don't know you're sweating.

They don't know just moments ago you wanted to back out.

Show up for you.

This is my challenge for you,

That you will show up shaking today and every day.

Use this motto as yours.

Show up shaking.

It's okay if people see you shake.

It's okay if they see you sweat.

You can only fail if you don't ever try.

And to me,

Living a life in neutral,

Stuck on the hamster wheel,

Is not a life that I wanna be living.

A life of joy is really extending ourself.

It's stretching ourself past our comfort zone.

So my challenge for you today is to do one thing,

To stretch yourself.

No more talking about it.

This is a coach coming out of me to you.

Just do it.

And check in with how that felt when you did it,

And celebrate.

That night when I got home,

I remember we probably ordered foods from somewhere,

But I just remember that feeling,

That feeling of accomplishment.

I did it.

I want you to feel that.

That builds confidence.

When we show up shaking one decision at a time,

That's how we build our confidence.

Another quote I'll share by Brene Brown.

She says,

When you shut down vulnerability,

You shut down opportunity.

And I'm gonna say that again,

Because I think it's so powerful.

When you shut down vulnerability,

You shut down opportunity.

Think of how many times we've been in a situation where we feel that we're not there.

That we feel that we're not there.

And that we feel that we're not there.

And that we feel that we're not there.

And that many times are there that we either decide to show up or not,

Based on the feeling of vulnerable.

It is so vulnerable to share ourself.

It is so much easier to stay small and hidden.

It's so much easier,

Especially as women,

To remain small and hidden and quiet like a cute,

Pretty little mouse.

But that doesn't breed happiness.

I want you to remember back to a time when you felt so confident in yourself.

What were you doing?

What were you wearing?

What did you say?

How did you feel?

The times in my life where I most felt confident were when I was little,

Running around the yard,

Playing,

Feeling free,

Not caring.

Who saw me?

I was in my zone,

In my element.

And I also feel sometimes we can block our own happiness because we are free to be happy.

Because when we are happy and feeling bliss,

We don't want to lose it.

It's just like going on vacation and being so excited.

The buildup is what is most exciting many times,

The packing,

The planning,

Where are we going to go?

What are we going to wear?

What are we going to do?

And then when you get there,

It's fun.

It's a fun experience.

You get there,

It's fun,

It's amazing,

It's great.

But then you have the thought of,

Oh,

Only one more day left,

Only two more days left.

Today's the day we have to go home.

That's how life is.

It is the journey of getting there that truly that's where we find happiness,

I believe.

So sometimes going back to blocking our happiness,

Sometimes we do that because we're afraid of having that thing taken away from us.

We're afraid to lose it.

We're afraid it will go away just like a relationship.

A lot of times us women,

We get into these amazing relationships and we don't really care if we're not happy.

We don't really care.

Maybe the guy likes us more than we like them.

And then we fall.

We fall head over heels and we get scared.

We feel,

Is he backing away?

Am I going to lose him?

So my challenge to you is to embrace the journey,

Embrace who you are on the way to becoming your best self.

I hope you liked today's episode.

And if you know of someone who really needs to hear this,

Please share it with them.

And please consider donating as it helps me to produce more content in doing and spreading the message.

That is what it's all about for me,

Spreading the love and the light.

I believe in you.

Keep shining.
