Welcome to this guided meditation.
This meditation is for when you are on your flight and you're feeling anxious and fearful.
So I will try to help calm you a bit.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And exhale out.
Breathing in,
Relaxation.
And exhaling out any tension.
I want you to really feel the support of the seat beneath you.
Let your feet rest comfortably.
Let the seat hold you up.
And even roll out your shoulders a bit.
And relax them.
With every breath,
I want you to allow yourself to settle into the journey.
As you hear the sounds around you,
Maybe the hum of the engines.
Just remember that that's the sound of steady movement forward towards your destination.
And maybe the gentle vibrations that you feel.
Maybe they could be a bit startling at times.
That they are the rhythm of the airplane just carrying you through the sky.
And that they're temporary.
Sometimes they might last a little bit longer than we're comfortable,
But just know that it's temporary.
There's any changes in the engine sound.
Anything that you notice that it's part of the plane,
Just adjusting as it moves through the different stages of the flight.
If you feel the plane rise,
Just gently remind yourself My body is experiencing this beautiful sensation of flight.
I am safe.
I can breathe through this moment and it's temporary.
If you feel a physical sensation,
Maybe it's a movement or a little bump,
Imagine yourself floating gently with the plane,
Like a leaf moving peacefully on a breeze.
And the wings are designed to move.
The airplane is designed to respond to the air around it.
So just know that every sound,
Every sensation,
It's just part of the journey.
You can ride those waves a bit.
And return your attention back to your breath as many times as you need.
It helps calm your nervous system.
It's a healthy way that you can redirect your attention.
Is something that you can feel a sense of control.
And calming you.
Breathing in relaxation and really notice the sensations of an inhale,
Feeling the cool air enter your nose.
Filling your lungs.
Giving oxygen to your body and exhaling out,
Feeling the sensation of the exhale.
So the warm air exits your body.
And reminding yourself I am supported.
I am surrounded by skilled professionals who have been trained to do this.
I am cared for throughout this journey.
And you can notice what it's like to just soften into your seat,
Maybe make some adjustments.
Maybe you can roll your shoulders up and back.
You can roll your head around,
Just relaxing your neck.
One direction and the other.
Even tighten your fists a bit and then gently relax,
Just noticing that sensation of muscle tension and relaxation.
You can even enjoy the view if you feel comfortable looking out the window or looking around.
You can listen to music or watch a nice movie or a show.
Redirecting your attention to something that gives you joy.
It can be a healthy distraction temporarily.
And you can always return to your breath.
Breathing in deeply and allowing your body to become relaxed.
Remind yourself that your body knows how to relax.
Your mind knows how to settle.
Can redirect.
And maybe if your nervousness or anxiety is at a 10 you could bring it down to a 9 or an 8 and maybe slowly bring it down to a 7,
6 and so forth.
With every mile.
You move closer to where you are going.
Getting closer to your destination.
You can breathe in calm.
And exhale out any fear or tension.
Trusting in the journey.
In your ability to help yourself relax just a little bit.
You are safe and supported.
I hope that you can return to this meditation as many times as you need.
And allow yourself to enjoy the journey.
As you arrive towards your destination.
Have a great flight!
