This is a gentle meditation practice for letting life be, with all our hearts. In this practice we can embrace our curious traveler selves to allow what we experience in terms of thoughts, emotions, and body sensations, to pass through us. No need to hold onto anything. Life is there to be experienced and then let go of. We are choosing stillness, openness, and being over our perceived life challenges. With love, Andy

Transcript

So,

Inviting you to find your comfortable meditation posture.

Sitting,

Lying down,

You can lie on a bed,

Or sometimes I find it very healing to lay down on the floor.

There's something about laying low and being near the ground.

And taking a nice deep breath in.

Breathing out,

Gently closing your eyes.

And if you're feeling a bit wobbly today,

You can rock left and right,

Just sway for a moment.

Then allow your body to come in and find its centre.

And you can also rock forwards and backwards.

Again,

Gently allowing your body to find its centre.

Slowly coming back in.

All the while breathing.

Relaxing your face,

Allowing your shoulders to drop.

Allowing the weight of your body to sink a little further into the ground.

This is your time to sit with yourself,

To heal if healing is needed.

To maybe discover a deeper sense of what it is to be a human.

To find a true sense of self that you can live through in daily life.

This sense of being that's kinder,

More knowing than this identity,

This person we've created in the world that we work so hard to hold up at all costs.

Taking a few more deep breaths,

Just for a moment.

And as we've done before,

Making your in-breath an invitation for a new beginning.

And your out-breath be a letting go.

Letting go of the morning or day you've had so far.

All the things that may still be sticking to you,

Clinging to you.

And really feeling into the is-ness of this moment.

That sense of being here.

If your mind is particularly busy,

Full of thoughts,

Let in that be too.

As if this is exactly how it should be.

Which it is.

And we can adopt the mantra,

Let it be,

With anything that we experience.

And if you notice a challenging thought,

An emotion,

A body sensation,

A story running round your head,

A sense of restlessness,

You can say to yourself,

Let it be.

And letting it be with your whole heart.

Choosing the stillness over the struggle.

Allowing your awareness to move to whatever comes to visit.

And meeting it with a sense of openness and knowing.

Let it be.

And whatever your history,

Your perceived future,

Allowing it all to fall away.

Just revealing what's true in this moment.

And as you sit,

Just allowing these words to go where they need to.

I know life hasn't been easy.

I know there have been times when it's all been too much to bear.

But you are a traveller.

You are always changing.

Life is always changing.

Go lightly.

You were forged by the stars,

Grown from the earth.

And we are all just billions of atoms vibrating together,

Meeting each other and moving on.

Life doesn't happen to you.

You are life.

And you are part of the whole.

The magic and the mystery.

What happens isn't personal.

It's a gift that you happen to be there to see.

And a gift that sometimes holds heaviness,

Anger,

Sadness and longing,

As well as stillness and joy,

Peace.

And I know it's not been an easy ride.

There have been struggles,

Heartache and loss.

You've felt the lowest of lows and the highest of highs.

You want those highs to last forever.

And we say to ourselves,

Why must they go?

What did I do wrong?

What do I need to change?

Well my friend,

There's nothing to be done.

Nothing to change.

Follow your heart.

Your kind,

Caring self.

And paint your own picture in the universe.

And perhaps it will paint one back that speaks to your heart.

Perhaps it will paint one that pushes you sideways.

But let the universe speak.

And you are just here as an explorer.

There to experience life.

Dive into it.

And let go.

And know that when your brave heart is needed,

It will find the power and strength to meet those unequal forces with courage,

From a place that's bigger than you.

Know that your kind heart will always serve you.

And rejoice when it happened.

And let it be when it didn't.

Just as a tree falling at your feet,

Could fall at the feet of another.

Stand up when you feel imbalanced.

And sit down when you need to rest.

When you are weary.

No need to compare yourself to others.

We are all the same underneath.

No need to judge yourself.

Who are you really judging?

Meet and greet each day as a passing bird.

Whether it graced you with a song or a squawk,

Let it fly.

There is no story to be told.

Just live your life with all your spirit.

Shine in your own way.

There is no need to be anything that you're not.

Now allowing these words to echo or settle.

Allowing whatever is here to be here.

Trusting that everything will find its place.

Let it be.

And now inviting you to take a deep breath in.

Breathing in kindness towards yourself.

And breathing out.

And acknowledging this time you have spent with yourself.

And gently opening your eyes as we end this meditation.
