If you are considering giving up.
Hey there!
You didn't arrive here by chance.
Something inside you brought you here today.
Whether you call it intuition,
Grace,
Your soul,
Your higher self,
Or simply hope,
Something whispered Keep listening.
I'm grateful you did.
I am Ana Barreto.
I know things may feel incredibly heavy right now,
Perhaps you're exhausted from trying.
Perhaps you've been disappointed one too many times.
Perhaps you've worked so hard and have so little to show for it that you're wondering if it's even worth continuing.
I understand.
Life has seasons.
There are seasons of blooming and seasons of becoming.
There are moments when everything flows effortlessly.
And there are moments when simply getting out of bed feels like an accomplishment.
If today is one of those days,
I want you to know something.
Feeling tired does not mean you are weak.
Feeling discouraged does not mean you have failed.
Feeling lost does not mean you will stay lost.
Take a slow,
Deep breath with me.
Inhale.
And exhale.
Again,
Inhale.
Exhale.
Now hear these words with your heart.
You are stronger than you think.
You are.
You may not believe me,
But you are.
Not because someone printed it on a motivational poster,
Not because it sounds nice and it's the right thing to say when someone is feeling down,
But because your life has already proven it.
Look at everything you have survived,
Every heartbreak,
Every disappointment,
Every unexpected turn,
Every moment you thought you wouldn't make it through.
Yet here you are.
You may have scars,
But you're still standing.
That isn't luck.
That is your strength.
Sometimes we become so focused on what isn't working that we forget to honor everything we have already overcome.
You have come farther than you give yourself credit for.
Okay?
This time may feel like you are at the bottom of the well and you don't see a way out.
However,
There is something else I need you to remember.
No one can be you.
No one has lived your life.
No one has gathered your experiences.
No one has your voice,
Your heart,
Your perspective,
Your gifts.
The world doesn't need another copy of someone else.
It needs the version of you that only you can become.
So,
Yes.
It's okay to feel tired.
It's okay to pause.
It's okay to cry.
It's okay to question.
It's okay to admit that today is as difficult as yesterday or last week.
But now is not the time to give up on yourself.
Instead,
Remember why you began.
I recently heard someone say,
They were thinking about giving up.
So I will share with you what I share with her.
Go back to the beginning.
Before the fear.
Before the many setbacks,
Before the criticism,
Betrayals,
Or disappointments.
Before the endless doubts.
Remember your dreams.
Remember that one dream that kept showing up in your mind from time to time.
Yes,
That one.
Remember how alive it made you feel.
Remember how you could almost taste the life you wanted to create.
That dream is still waiting for you.
It may have changed shape.
It may require a different path.
But it is not gone.
It just needs your renewed attention.
If you spend all your energy staring at every setback,
Every mistake,
Every closed door.
Your mind will convince you that defeat is the whole story.
It isn't.
Lift your eyes.
Look toward what you're building instead of only what you're leaving behind.
Your future deserves as much attention as your fears have been receiving from you.
You don't have to climb the entire mountain today.
Just take one step.
Than another.
Small steps,
Taken consistently,
Have carried every great journey in history.
Perhaps the first step is to listen to this talk.
Now celebrate this small victory.
The path to victory is not a straight line.
It has curves and downs too.
And they are part of the path.
Perhaps there is something you need to learn.
I don't know your lesson.
But even if I did,
I couldn't tell you.
You know,
I learned a while ago that when someone else teaches us the lesson we need to learn,
We don't assimilate it.
The answers have to come from within so we can fully understand.
We keep repeating what we don't understand.
We just keep repeating.
If you are repeating this phase of your life again,
I want you to stop.
Take a meaningful breath right here,
Right now.
There are many ways to find the wisdom of our lives.
Yes,
This downtime is wisdom.
You may call it sickness,
Unemployment,
Not having money,
Being evicted,
Or being single again.
Whatever this time is,
It is part of the wisdom of your life.
Take another deep and slow breath.
I invite you to accept where you are right now.
Yes.
Accept.
You do not agree with what happened.
You are just accepting.
Accepting looks like a reset button.
The body says,
I am here.
The mind says,
I am here.
And the heart says,
I am open.
Relax your shoulders and let the tears fall.
You are okay.
You can accept where you are because you can always restart today or tomorrow.
This is the time you chose to begin again.
You may have done it many times,
But this time is different.
Why?
Because you may feel you are stuck,
But this time you are stuck with wisdom.
Wisdom.
Wisdom clears the eyes of your inner critic.
Wisdom soothes the instructions of your saboteur.
Wisdom awakens your inner friend,
The kinder voice to yourself.
Wisdom tells you to rest when your body asks for a rest.
But please,
Don't confuse resting with quitting.
Seeds rest beneath the soil before they bloom.
This season of rest may be preparing you for your next season of growth.
And please remember this,
You were never meant to carry everything alone.
Reach out.
Talk to someone you trust.
Allow people who love you to remind you of who you are when you've temporarily forgotten.
Sometimes,
Borrowing someone else's hope is enough until your own hope returns.
You can borrow my hope today.
I am sharing it with whoever needs it.
You see,
Hope is not only mine,
It belongs to the world.
I just happen to see it more frequently.
And when the world becomes too noisy,
Come back to your breath.
Listen to this talk.
And take a breath.
There is wisdom living inside you.
It has been there since the day you arrived in this world.
It has always known the next step.
The challenge is not that it stopped speaking.
The challenge is that your focus on fear has become louder.
So today,
Choose to listen a little less to fear and a little more to the truth.
Take one more deep breath.
You are still here,
Which means your story is still being written.
There are still people you haven't met who will one day be grateful you didn't quit.
There are still places waiting for your footsteps.
There are still dreams waiting for your courage.
And there is still a version of you that you haven't had the chance to become.
If you think you don't know the voice that has been speaking to you,
Go and look in the mirror.
I am Ana Barreto,
Just translating the voice that has always been there for you.
When you glance at the mirror,
Pay attention to your eyes and see your quiet knowing.
Stay a little longer and call on your deepest wisdom,
Your true self.
You can do this.
Now find a paper and pen and write down five things you can be grateful for.
I will give you one,
Your wisdom.
Now find four more despite the setbacks you are paying attention to.
This is Ana Barreto.
Thank you for being here.
