Hello and welcome to day 12 of Radiance.
Today we are going to be exploring our nervous system.
All the nerves of the body,
The spinal cord,
The brain,
Our nervous system is this incredibly intelligent part of us and it is a great communicator.
It helps us receive information,
It gives out information.
In a way,
It is our electrical circuitry inside of us and it's also a bridge to the more subtle realm of us,
Our energetic self.
So that's a lot of information and that's enough for now.
Let's experience it.
Let's just go into our body and tune into it.
So you can sit down for this practice.
Of course,
If you'd prefer to lie down,
That's fine as well.
And feel free to close your eyes.
Take a nice deep breath in,
Greeting yourself,
Greeting your body for this practice.
And breathing out,
Relaxing.
Letting go of anything you were doing before this and anything you'll be doing afterwards.
Just let your breath wash over you,
Quieting your mind.
Calming down.
Your emotions.
And starting to soothe your body and soothe your nervous system.
And for this practice,
We are going to use our ability to imagine and to visualize.
We'll use our mind's eye to look inward and connect more deeply with this part of ourselves.
So.
.
.
Up in your head is your brain.
And we're going to include the brain within our exploration of our nervous system,
Even though we touched into it previously when we did the organs.
So bring your attention into your head.
And just let your head rock a little bit to the right and a little bit to the left and see if you can imagine just a water balloon inside your head and just feel the weight of your brain moving around up there as you gently rock your head.
All kinds of synapses are happening in your brain.
A lot going on up there and so let things calm down just by focusing on the movement and the physical sensation of that movement.
But your head rock a little bit forward and back as well.
Let these movements be small and slow.
And maybe even connecting them with your breath,
Breathing in as you go.
In one direction and breathing out as you go in the other.
And then let your head come to stillness.
Align your head over the rest of your body.
Relax your jaw.
And imagine your brain has a tail.
Which it does,
And it's called your spinal cord.
And this tail is dropping out and down right at the base of your skull.
Dropping down.
Along the back of your body.
And as you connect to your spinal cord.
Or again,
You might imagine it almost like a tail,
A long,
Thin tail.
Let your spine,
Let your torso Just sway a little side to side.
And again,
This can be a very small movement.
The slower you go,
The more you'll feel.
But I want you to be visualizing or imagining.
The movement of your spinal cord in your mind's eye.
As you let your torso relax.
Sway a little bit as you let your spine slither a little bit.
Releasing tension from your spinal cord,
From your nervous system.
Freeing up excess energy that might block its intelligence,
Its ability to communicate clearly to your entire body.
Breathe into your spinal cord.
Come into stillness and just notice what you feel.
And focus on your exhalation,
Breathe out slowly.
Inner nervous system and calming.
Creating a calming sensation through our nervous system.
Now emanating out from your spinal cord are all of these nerves,
Circuitry,
Little pathways traveling out from your spinal cord to the extremities of your body,
To all of the organs,
The tissues,
The bones,
Sense into your inner circuitry.
And just notice as you connect to your nervous system.
To your electrical system.
How do you feel?
Is it buzzy?
Is it calm?
Do you feel heat?
Tingling.
Some of the nerves are receiving information,
Delivering it to your spinal cord,
Delivering it up to your brain.
And some of the nerves are passing along information to other parts of the body,
To the hands,
To the feet,
To the eyes,
To the organs.
So much communication happening inside of you all of the time.
And by bringing our awareness to this part of ourselves,
We can help open up clear pathways so that our entire body is in communication with all parts of itself.
And as a result,
We can feel more congruent.
More whole,
More authentic and aligned.
And even more radiant,
All parts of us enlivened.
Now bring your awareness inward back to your spinal cord.
Back into your brain.
And then into the bones of your body.
And just feel the bones of your body grounding you.
Holding you up.
The nervous system can have an electrical feeling to it.
So let your bones ground your electrical system.
Ground into the earth.
Move your attention down through the bones,
Down through the floor,
Into the earth and just feel the earth beneath you for a few moments and breathe in earth's energy.
Up into your body as much as you need to feel grounded,
Stable,
Steady.
Drink in Earth's energy.
It is nourishment for you and for your body and for your radiance.
And then notice if there's any messages that you'd like to take with you.
What did you learn about yourself?
What did you feel during today's practice that you might want to bring with you and reflect upon?
Whether that be through journaling.
Or later on today when you have a bit more time to sit with it.
And then let's take one last deep breath,
Breathe in.
And out.
A beautiful rest of your day.
