Welcome,
I'm Amy Liz Harrison,
And this is a meditation on goal setting while wearing a loose garment.
So I invite you to find a comfortable and quiet place to sit or to lie down.
And I'd like to invite you to close your eyes.
We're going to take three deep breaths together.
Inhale through your nose and exhale through the mouth.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Inhale,
And exhale.
As you begin to settle into this moment,
Bring to mind a situation or a goal for which you would like to create a plan.
Planning makes us feel empowered.
Having a plan brings a sense of peace.
And just as important as planning is,
Is letting go of the ultimate outcome.
And so we control what we can control.
Let the rest go.
And so we open our hands to show a sense of flexibility,
Openness,
As we give our plan to the universe.
And this could be a personal project,
Related task,
Or self-improvement goal.
Allow this goal to come into your awareness without any judgment or attachment.
And as you do that,
Visualize yourself sitting in a peaceful space,
Wrapped up in a calm,
Tranquil,
Warm blanket.
You're safe and protected.
See yourself holding a blank sheet of paper,
Canvas in your hands,
Representing the plan you're about to create.
Look down at your hands and notice that they aren't gripping that paper tightly.
Very loose,
Dense,
Sweaty.
They're relaxed.
And as the attachment to hopes and dreams and plans acts,
So does your body.
So much so,
The blanket slips off your shoulders,
Revealing a loose garment,
Released tight,
Controlling,
Binding spirit.
Does it feel scary?
Notice any thoughts,
Emotions,
Or expectations that arise.
Acknowledge them without judgment.
Pass like clouds in the sky.
Notice how comfortable the loose garment feels against your skin.
It feels like you can breathe.
It feels like you can do anything with your relaxed hands.
Allow yourself to be fully present in this moment,
Open to the possibilities that lie ahead.
With a sense of curiosity and flexibility,
Begin to loosely sketch out your plan on the blank sheet of paper,
Canvas before you.
Allow your intuition and creativity to guide you.
Release any feeling,
Your edge for perfectionism,
Rigidity.
Thank that feeling for presenting itself to you.
All of the attachment to specific outcomes.
Brace freedom.
As you create your plan,
Imagine different pathways,
Different options that may arise along the way.
Visualize yourself remaining open to new ideas,
To change,
And being willing to pivot when necessary.
Embrace the concept of loose planning.
Choosing to embrace spontaneity,
Creativity,
And adaptability.
As your plan takes shape,
Reflect on this process.
Notice how empowering it feels to be flexible.
Idea of where you're going.
Not be firmly attached to it.
It's okay to change your mind.
It's okay to make adjustments.
It's okay to be aware of the life that is living,
Breathing,
Just as our plan unfolds.
Flexibility can lead to new and unexpected outcomes you never imagined.
Take another deep breath as you come back into present moment and surround yourself with a chosen spirit of love and kindness for yourself.
As you ease the spirit of gratitude for the difficult choices you make that actually unlock the doors to emotional freedom.
