Welcome to the Power of Reflection Meditation.
I'm Amy Liz Harrison.
I invite you to find a comfortable and quiet place to sit or lie down.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
And as you exhale,
Release any tension or stress in your body and allow your body to become heavy and relaxed.
Another deep breath in and exhale out.
And one last one in and exhale out.
And try to keep a normal breathing cadence as we continue.
Now bring your attention to the past experiences that you've had throughout your life.
Visualize a timeline from your early memories all the way up to your present moment.
See yourself standing,
Looking back at this timeline as the observer and not as the participant.
Allow yourself to observe without judgment.
Notice the different experiences,
Different events,
And the different people who have shaped you into the person you are today.
Acknowledge the challenges you have faced and the lessons you learned from them.
Recall moments of joy,
Success,
Happiness.
Recall moments of struggle and challenge.
Allow yourself to feel all of the emotions that arise,
Positive or seemingly negative emotions.
Remind yourself it's okay to feel that way.
Touch on that emotion and let it go,
Remembering that you're the observer.
Now bring to mind moments of accomplishment where you overcame an obstacle and take a moment to appreciate the strengths,
The skills,
And the qualities that you have developed through your past experiences.
Recognize how these positive aspects have contributed to your growth and have helped you become who you are today.
As you continue to reflect on your past positively,
Also consider the people who have supported and influenced you along the way.
Now express gratitude for their presence in your life and the impact they had on you.
Now take a deep breath and begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Feel the sensations in your body and the rhythm of your breath.
Take a moment to anchor yourself in the present,
Knowing you can carry the positive reflections from your past with you as you move forward in life.
And the not so positive reflections from your past were areas of growth and character development.
And just take a moment to be grateful for that.
And as you prepare to open your eyes,
Take with you the warmth in your heart comes from knowing that seeking clarity,
That reflecting on your past takes courage and bravery.
Be proud of yourself for taking this time today to put your self-care first.
Remember that you have the power to carry these experiences with you into the future.
You get to create and curate your reactions and responses to whatever life brings you.
Kind to yourself and celebrate your growth and your achievements.
And when you're ready,
Take one final deep breath and slowly open your eyes.
I invite you to carry this feeling of gratitude with you throughout your day.
