Welcome to this power nap.
Research has shown that power naps can improve memory,
Boost creativity and mood,
Prevent stress,
Increase productivity and enhance our overall well-being.
So make your body really comfortable now,
Closing your eyes and mentally repeating these words.
For this power nap I allow my mind and body to be completely relieved of all duties,
Demands and responsibilities and I trust that my body will awaken in 15 minutes feeling fresh and alert.
As you lie here quietly now notice that your body is breathing and begin to let your breath deepen,
Taking a few really slow and low breaths.
Inhaling right down into your belly and exhaling with a long and soft sigh.
Really take your time,
No hurry,
Let there be an ease to your breath.
Inhaling low and slow,
Exhaling,
Body softening.
Feel the movement of your breath,
The sensation in the inner passageways of your nostrils,
Body breathing naturally now,
All by itself,
Nothing to control,
Nothing to manage,
Nothing to get right.
It's enough just to be here,
Allowing your body to soften,
Completely and utterly abandoning the weight so that right now your body is held,
Fully supported,
Melting into the surface it's resting on,
The bones surrendering to gravity.
Let the feeling of your body come to you,
Tongue resting in the mouth,
Lower jaw loosening,
The inside of the mouth,
Softening,
Feeling the weight of the eyes and let them soften back now,
The feeling behind eyes,
Softening,
A softening of the whole face,
Completely releasing the weight of the head,
Shoulders softening down and that softening flowing down the arms,
Arms flowing into the hands,
Feel the sensation in the palms,
Let the feeling come to you,
Direct sensation,
Palms of hands,
The softening of the whole back of your body,
Hips releasing their weight,
Releasing the weight of the legs,
Feeling the whole body.
I'm inviting this body to soften just a little more,
Just let yourself drop now into the very simple,
Welcoming and completely effortless space of just being.
Right now there's absolutely nothing to do,
Absolutely nowhere to go,
There's nothing to get,
Nothing to figure out,
Nothing to understand,
Not one thought matters,
Right now,
Giving up,
Trying,
And if your body wants to sleep now,
Just allowing that to happen naturally,
And now let your breath deepen again,
Taking a few more slow and low breaths,
Inhaling,
Right down into your belly and exhaling with a long and soft sigh.
It's time to wake up now,
Let your body move and stretch in whatever way it needs to now,
And returning to its wide awake state,
Fresh,
Alert and ready to proceed with your day.
