"So much of our struggle comes from knowing that something is right, but not feeling all right with it. This gap between life as it is and our resistance to it keeps us from peace. This meditation is designed to guide you into acceptance — acceptance of change, acceptance of yourself, and acceptance of the present moment. Through gentle breathwork, mindful awareness, and compassionate reflection, you will learn how to notice resistance without judgment and soften into acceptance. Each step of the practice invites you to release the fight and discover the calm that acceptance brings. If you are searching for acceptance, calm, or clarity, this meditation will support you in finding balance. By the end, you may see that peace doesn’t come from changing life — it comes from moving from ‘right but not all right’ into full acceptance of life exactly as it is."

Hello,

My name is Alonzo,

Also known as the Life Lama,

And I'd like to welcome you to this meditation.

May you all be healthy,

May you all be happy,

May you all be at peace,

May you all find compassion,

And may you all be here now.

I want to begin with something very close to my heart.

I'm getting older.

I know that aging is natural.

It's right.

It's the rhythm of life.

But if I'm honest,

I'm not always all right with it.

Some mornings,

I see the lines in the mirror or feel aches in my body,

And part of me resists.

This resistance is where my suffering hides.

And maybe you have something like this in your life,

Something you know deep down is right,

But you haven't come to a point yet of being all right with it.

I want you to take a moment now to call whatever that is into your awareness,

And hold it gently.

The Tao Te Ching reminds us,

If you realize that all things change,

There is nothing you will try to hold on to.

If you're not afraid of dying,

There is nothing you cannot achieve.

That's from Lao Tzu.

It speaks to the truth that things are as they must be,

Yet our mind struggles to make peace with that.

So let's begin.

Find a seat.

Let your spine be tall,

Your body relaxed.

Close your eyes.

Breathe naturally.

Feel the ground beneath you steady and unchanging.

Bring your mind to that thing you're struggling with,

The place where everything is right,

Yet you are not all right.

Just notice the tension,

The resistance.

Don't push it away.

Just acknowledge it.

Set with that for a moment.

Place your hand gently over your heart.

Breathe into that place of struggle.

Whisper to yourself,

It's okay to feel this.

I'm learning to be at peace with what is.

Now shift your perspective.

See how the struggle is part of the unfolding of life,

Just as aging is for me.

The challenge itself is an imitation.

Breathe into the truth.

This too belongs.

This too is right.

Return to your breath.

Sit in silence.

Allow what is right to also begin to feel all right.

Know that peace comes not from changing life,

But from softening into it.

As you move forward today,

Notice the moments when resistance arises.

Remind yourself,

Everything is right,

Even when I'm not yet all right with it.

Over time,

Awareness transforms resistance.

It transforms it into acceptance.

Thank you so much for taking the time to meditate with me.

Again,

This is Alonzo,

Also known as the Life Lama.

May you be healthy.

May you be happy.

May you be at peace.

May you live with compassion.

May you be here now.
