Listening is the catalyst for authentic connection,

Peace,

And growth.

The first step toward a peaceful relationship is observing without trying to change.

It's being present without an intention of fixing.

That's the only way we're able to listen with the most clarity.

The breath practice we do today will strengthen our skill of listening and quiet the voice of the ego saying,

Fix this,

Do better,

Change that.

Just like strengthening our muscles,

With dedication to practice,

We become lighthouses for peace,

All through the powerful and often lost art of listening.

Find a comfortable position for the body to relax.

In a moment,

We will do three rounds of observing the breath without trying to fix or change.

Each round will be about 45 seconds with breaks in between.

I'll keep the time.

Close your eyes.

Watch your breath.

The practice will begin in three,

Two,

One.

Release your focus and let that round go.

With this next round,

Get 10% more relaxed in the body.

Think about the energy and emotion happening as we observe the breath.

Is it curious?

Is it loving?

Is it frustrated?

Begin in three,

Two,

One.

Release your focus and let that round go.

With this final round,

Get even 10% more relaxed in the body.

As you observe the breath,

Notice the lungs.

Notice how the body is moving the breath through you,

Opposed to you being in control of moving it.

The practice begins in three,

Two,

One.

How cool is the body?

Release your focus and let that round go.

Doing this practice regularly will strengthen your mind's ability to see with clarity.

The ego protects us by giving us a false perception of so much control.

But as we grow and learn,

We can be ready to not only see,

But embrace how little control we actually have.

This clarity and perception builds the loving connection we have with ourselves and with the world around us.

Thank you for practicing with me.

I'll see you next time.
