Hello and welcome to this episode.
So often in our world,
In our lives,
We become frustrated with our bodies as we age.
Perhaps things aren't working as they used to,
You know,
The joints are becoming a little sore.
Things are not,
You know,
Quite as mobile.
Perhaps even our energy is less than we're used to.
We often forget that this body,
This vessel that is ours,
Is such a sacred space.
And I'm sure you've heard of the term,
The temple.
This is the temple in which we reside in this life.
So when you're ready,
Find yourself in a quiet space.
And you're welcome to lay or to sit.
You can even be walking while you're doing this.
But I think at some stage allow yourself the grace of being in a quiet place where you can be undisturbed.
And just find yourself where,
You know,
You find comfort in your body.
And we're going to begin with our breaths in through the nose and out through our mouth.
In our first inhalation,
There is a deep presence,
A knowing,
That as you breathe in,
You are aware of the breath coming in through the nostrils,
Filling the lungs,
Feel the chest expanding,
The belly expanding.
It's not forced.
And as you exhale,
Exhale slowly out the mouth.
It's not forced.
It's not straining.
It's just a natural progression of release.
And as you breathe in again,
Embrace that feeling.
What does it feel like for the life force to be coming into you?
Feel how the body changes.
And then as you exhale,
Exhale out the mouth and soften through your shoulders,
Through your throat,
Through your jaw.
And then inhale.
And this time as you exhale,
A sense of that exhalation is creating more space around you.
Just letting all the things,
The demands,
The obligations in your life to just move a little further away from you for this time that you have allowed for yourself.
And then as you make any adjustments through your body,
Acknowledge your body.
Thank your body.
And acknowledge that you are now resting.
And whilst the outside of your body may be still and calm,
Perhaps you're starting to feel the energy that wants to release through a movement of the limb.
Let it happen.
At any time you feel the need to move or to stretch,
Do so.
Then gently move through your neck by just allowing the face to roll from side to side or turn side to side.
Very slowly,
Very gently.
With full awareness,
Softening the shoulders and allowing the expansion.
And then when you feel ready,
If your eyes are not already closed,
Gently close them as you breathe in.
If it's comfortable for you to do so,
Breathe out through the nose.
And breath by breath,
You find yourself going deeper within.
Letting go of your day.
Letting go of your demands.
Feeling the mind settle.
I'm sure your mind is presenting some more thoughts to you.
Thoughts of the past,
Thoughts of the future.
Just observe them.
Just let the exhalation,
Just let those thoughts leave you.
Again,
Creating space between you and them.
And then in your mind's eye,
Imagine,
Imagine your feet.
Imagine what they look like today.
Think about all the steps that you've taken today.
And then drift back in time.
Way back in time.
And imagine your feet when you were first born.
On that day,
The breathing day,
Where you came into this world and the universe flowed into you.
And you were gifted your first breath in this life.
Imagine that first breath as it flows into you.
As it flows from you.
And your life with the interflow and the ebb and flow of the universe has begun in this physical body.
And imagine your feet.
Tiny feet that have never touched the earth.
Imagine how you were moving your feet.
Imagine their color,
The softness of your skin,
The feet that you were gifted with.
And then as you breathe in,
Imagine the love that surrounds you,
Supports you,
Believes in you,
Guides you.
And then as you exhale,
Imagine moving through time.
And imagine yourself at the age of two.
Perhaps you've just begun to truly have a foundation of walking,
Of running,
Of the feet touching the earth,
Of you being independent as you move around.
Imagine your feet on the soft grass.
Imagine your feet on the sand at the beach.
Imagine the cool water of the ocean.
The same feet that you were born with.
Imagine how many steps from your birth to this day.
Two years old,
Exploring,
Interacting with life.
And then as a breath flows into you,
Move through time and imagine yourself at the age of 10.
So many more steps,
So many more times of connection with loved ones and learning and connection with the earth.
And as you exhale,
A sense of feeling grounded,
Connected.
Feel the love,
The courage,
Strength that is gifted to you but is also within you.
Imagine yourself running,
Climbing,
The freedom of being 10 years old.
And then as you breathe in,
Travel through time and now imagine yourself at the age of 25.
25 years of being in this body,
These same feet,
These same hands,
Same legs,
Arms,
Organs.
Imagine all of the times you have connected.
The things that you have been able to do,
Through the grace and the temple of your body.
And as you breathe in,
Breathe in with awareness,
Intent and gratitude.
Feel how the body expands with the breath,
The ebb and flow of the universe continuing to guide you.
And then feel yourself flow,
Through time until you find yourself at the age of 40.
Same feet,
Same hands.
So many things that you have done in this life,
Thanks to this incredible gift of your body.
Imagine how many breaths you have been gifted,
The words you have spoken,
The time you have shared.
And all along your body has held you in such love.
Never asking.
Your body there for you,
Carrying you.
Loving you.
And then drift through time.
Drift through the precious time,
Until you find yourself in the now.
Arriving in the now.
We are aware of our bodies,
As they are on this sacred day.
Imagine how many steps you have taken,
How many breaths you have been gifted,
The time you have shared,
The things you have created,
The people you have loved.
The amount of times you have laughed,
The amount of times you have cried,
The times of rejoice and celebration,
The times of sorrow or heartbreak.
All of these precious times have been experienced through your senses,
Through the physicality of your body,
Holding your sacred spirit in this life.
Your body is a sacred universe,
In a constant dance in the web of creation.
Honour your sacred vessel,
Your sacred feet that have carried you and allow you to continue to move.
The hands that help you to hold,
To create,
To love.
The lungs that help you to breathe and sustain life.
For this moment in time and for many moments to come,
Feel the gratitude.
As you exhale,
Feel yourself letting go of any frustration that you feel around your body.
The goal of the feelings of sorrow around perhaps loss of mobility or soreness.
If there is dis-ease within your body.
As you exhale,
Feel a sense that you are able to let this go.
And in its place,
Acknowledging,
Bringing the equilibrium back within your body.
Talking to the cells,
Creating the strength and the vitality that is filled with love.
As you breathe in and out,
Feel the calmness that washes through you.
As the vessel in which you are living is filled with love.
It is filled with acceptance.
It is filled with forgiveness.
It is filled with courage.
It is filled with honour.
You feel the body alive with vitality.
Expanded,
Open,
Beaming with life.
And those feet that have carried you,
Thank them.
The lungs that have continued to breathe,
Thank them.
The heart that has beat,
The lungs,
The organs,
The entire system of your body.
You are a miracle.
And may you learn to nurture the miracle of your body,
Of your emotions,
Of your life,
As you learn each and every day,
To love,
To accept.
To forgive and to believe.
And you breathe in a little deeper.
And you breathe out with that sense of expansion.
You stretch out through your arms and out through your legs.
And you truly engage and connect with your limbs.
Stretching right up,
Creating as much space in the room through your body.
Move through your neck.
The breath is deeper,
The exhalation deeper.
Until you feel ready to return to the awareness of the room or the space in which you are.
Each day,
Often without thought,
Our body continues to move through the universe.
Within it,
Its own universe,
Constantly creating,
My prayer,
That each day you learn a deeper connection within yourself.
To honour who you are.
To take the sacred time for yourself.
So that the ripple and the light that you bring to the earth is one that is filled with love,
That is filled with acceptance and gratitude,
That begins deep within you.
Feeling fully awake and grounded.
Thank you for sharing space with me.
And may your inner light shine brightly.
