Welcome to this expansiveness of mind meditation.
To begin,
Find a comfortable seat in a chair or on the floor,
Sitting with your spine tall and neutral.
Allow your eyes now to gently close.
Guide your attention to your breath.
Let each exhale breath be at least as long as each breath in.
Move toward a cycle of breath that reflects all the qualities you'd like to see in your mind – patience,
Steadiness,
Spaciousness,
Ease.
Continue to focus on your breath.
Each time you find that your mind has wandered,
Just gently shift your focus back to the breath.
Let your breath be at least as long as each breath in.
Let your breath be at least as long as each breath in.
The practice of mindfulness comes in our regular return to attention.
Return to the breath as many times as you need to.
It doesn't matter if your awareness wanders away once.
Or twice.
Now,
Rest in this spaciousness of awareness.
It is limitless without beginning,
Without end.
