Welcome to this meditation and self-compassion.
Today we're going to use mindfulness to build our sense of self-compassion in order to help you on your path of healing and reintegration of body,
Heart,
And mind.
Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
Feel your body connected to the ground as you begin to take five deep breaths,
Filling your lungs fully and releasing the air in a gentle stream.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
And release all the air in your lungs.
Sit comfortably in this place of calm.
Self-compassion is rooted in love for ourselves,
Knowing how beautiful we really are,
And how much we care about our well-being,
Our happiness,
And our ability to serve those around us.
I invite you now to sense inside a growing warmth and gratitude toward yourself,
A feeling of sweetness,
Caring,
And strength that fills all parts of your body.
As this sensation of self-compassion fills your body,
See if you can feel yourself moving into a greater sense of ease and a greater sense of peace.
Self-compassion allows us to be with our suffering,
Not to hide from it.
We're able to stay engaged with how we actually feel and to care for ourselves when things are difficult.
At any point,
Your mind begins to wander,
Gently guided back to the feeling of comfortable warmth filling your body.
The feeling of warm self-compassion.
At any point,
Return your mind back to the feeling of gentle warmth and self-compassion filling your body.
Returning to the feeling of warm self-compassion will strengthen your ability to be with your feelings and emotions during the challenges that you will face.
The practice of mindfulness comes in the regular return to the object of focus.
When you notice your mind beginning to wander,
Don't judge,
Don't jump to conclusions.
Simply invite your mind to return to that wonderful feeling of warm self-compassion that is filling your body.
Life can be hard.
Self-compassion allows us to be with our suffering,
Not to hide from it.
Through cultivating self-compassion,
We're able to stay engaged with how we actually feel and to care for ourselves when things are difficult.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation practice today.
