As we begin a fresh new day, we have a sacred moment to shape it. Often we wake up with worry or self criticism already stirring, and that can set the tone for the whole day. The wonderful thing is that you have the power to choose to change your course in every moment. And we can choose to begin our day establishing exactly the quality of experience that we really want to have. With this meditation, you can take this time to gently redirect your thoughts and feelings towards self kindness, allowing you allow us to start the day with an open heart and a smile and feel you're under your own care and protection all day long.

The first moments of the new day are very precious.

As we begin a fresh new day we have a sacred moment to shape it.

Often we wake up with worry or self-criticism already stirring and that's normal.

What we don't want to happen is let it set the tone for the whole day and gather more momentum because it goes unaddressed.

The wonderful thing is that we have the power,

You have the power,

To choose to change our course in every moment and we can choose to begin our day establishing exactly the quality of experience that we really want to have.

And that's what we're going to do right now,

To take this time together to gently redirect our thoughts and feelings towards self-kindness.

And that will allow us to start the day with an open heart and a smile and feel we're under our own care and protection all day long.

So let's begin.

Just simply breathing with yourself.

Invite yourself in,

Invite yourself to the spot where you are and to feel your presence arriving now,

There's a sense of coming back to you.

And now gently begin to let your awareness ripple through your body,

Softening your gaze,

Letting your face relax,

Letting your shoulders drop and softening your breathing.

Sensing your breath as a gentle caress,

Stroking,

Soothing any areas in you that feel tight or maybe tense.

And every time you exhale,

Allow that out breath to soften and melt away resistance.

And then you might just give yourself a hug or invite yourself to simply hold your heart by placing your hands over it in a gesture of kindness,

Of support,

A touch that affirms compassion towards yourself no matter what's going on.

You're here,

You're alive and a new day is waiting to embrace you with its light.

Begin to take some slower,

Deeper breaths into you.

You have time.

It's safe for you to take this time.

Flowing towards kindness and letting kindness flow into your being.

Drawing in each new breath as the fresh new energy of the day.

And with every exhalation,

Just that release arriving more deeply in your own space.

And now greet yourself with a whisper and say,

Good morning.

I'm so glad you're here.

Notice how you feel as you offer yourself this morning welcome.

Sensing every part of you is listening and receiving your words.

Receiving this welcome.

Good morning,

Precious you.

I'm so glad you're here.

And now invite the thought that today is a new opportunity to be loving and kind towards yourself.

And repeat these affirmations to yourself out loud or silently.

I am with you with all my kindness.

I am with you just the way you are.

Breathing in and softening,

Releasing on the out breath.

I am here for you.

You are precious.

I honor and embrace you.

As you breathe here,

Sense that you're drawing in sensations of love and kindness.

Feeling that loving kind energy moving into every part of you.

Landing deeply into every cell.

And commit to yourself now.

I wake up to a new day to love and accept myself.

I love and believe in the person that lives in my body and carries me through the day.

Whatever moves through my thoughts,

My emotions and my body today.

We'll move into a space of kindness.

I will make kindness my light and my guide today.

Feel this declaration of self-kindness resonating within you.

Creating ripples of warmth.

And affirm,

I am grateful for each and every moment of my being.

I am grateful for life.

I am grateful for me.

And as you breathe here,

Harmonizing is happening within you right now.

All the parts of you befriending each other again.

Being in union.

Connected to this rich tapestry of kindness weaving through your body with your breath.

With these words.

So that you will meet today from this integrated kind space.

Feel it now beaming a warm energy and light that's spreading around your whole being.

That's spreading under the touch of your hands where they are on your body.

As you hold yourself precious and close.

A wave of warmth and well-being spreading around your whole being.

And sending loving awareness to everything that's present in you now.

And there may be something particularly that needs some extra kindness inside you.

A thought,

A feeling.

Something you're anticipating.

With your breath can you send a wave of loving awareness particularly to that part.

Letting it know it is held and looked after.

Whatever arises today.

Letting all of you know that you are held and looked after.

Whatever arises today.

In this loving embrace that you've given yourself.

That will hold you all day long.

And from there feeling the call to return.

In an effortless way just returning.

Awakening.

To the present moment.

Ready to step into your day carrying this fresh energy.

This inner glow within you.

Wrapped in the embrace of your own kindness.

Knowing that your body feels safe and nourished and resourced.

So that your true self can shine brightly in the world.

Today is a gift and you are its most incredible treasure.

Before you leave this space please remember to thank yourself for your self-care.

And maybe there's an intention that's arising in you.

That you're going to keep as a guidepost.

A lighthouse for today.

You might even want to do some journaling.

Or have a chat with yourself.

Or move something around that you had planned that you're now changing.

After you leave this practice.

And I hope whatever happens you enjoy another beautiful day on earth today.
