
Deep Roots: A Grounding Guided Practice

This practice will help to center, align, and connect you with the earth so you feel more rooted, supported and calm. Grounding is so important, particularly if you practice yoga or meditate a lot, as it can be easy to start to disconnect with the earth and live more in the 'sky'. This meditation will help you to feel more back in the body.

Hello and welcome to this guided grounding meditation.
Grounding is so important and it basically refers to the process of connecting to Mother Earth.
We can do this physically by earthing or placing the soles of our feet or our body directly onto the ground.
Or we can do it by mentally creating a link,
Creating these roots so that we have more strength,
More stability,
More support and we feel more centered and grounded too.
If possible I want you to be actually touching the ground so if you're near a park or you have a nice garden,
Go and sit down with parts of your body actually touching the grass or the mud.
You can either lay down or you can stay in a seated position.
If this isn't possible don't worry you can still do the meditation.
Just get in a comfy seated or laying down position.
And just begin to relax.
Relaxing the tip of your toes as a wave of softness rolls up relaxing your ankles,
Shins,
Knees and thighs are relaxed.
Relaxing your hips,
Stomach,
Chest,
Back and shoulders.
As this wave of softness relaxes your arms and every muscle in your hands and fingers.
Your neck is relaxed,
Jaw softens.
Relax your face,
Eyes,
Eyebrows and scalp.
Good.
Let's just call in for some help for this meditation.
Asking our guides,
Any higher beings of love and light to come in and support us.
To help us to have a powerful transformational experience.
And as always give them some thanks.
And taking your awareness to your body,
Your physical body.
Notice where your clothes touch your body.
What does it feel like?
Notice the sensation of the air around your face and skin.
Is the air warm?
Humid?
Is it windy?
Become hyper aware of what's going on around you.
And then notice what parts of your body are touching the ground.
Notice how your body is so supported by the air.
And as you do this you become more in your body.
Almost feeling like you're gathering all parts of you and taking them back in.
Becoming more aligned and more present.
And as you breathe long,
Deep,
Smooth inhales and exhales you start to grow thick,
Strong roots out from the soles of your feet.
And these beautiful grounding roots start to pierce through the top of the earth.
Growing and spreading wider and wider as they reach down through the soil.
And they grow further through mud and rocks and water as they reach down and down and down.
Growing and flowing through all sorts of the earth's crust,
Deeper and deeper the roots grow down.
And they continue travelling through magma,
Deeper and deeper,
Down.
Until they reach so far they arrive at the very centre of the earth so strong.
At the centre of the earth you see a beautiful giant crystal.
And this crystal is your crystal.
It's just for you.
And as you look at it it begins to pulsate,
To shimmer,
To glimmer with the most beautiful radiant light.
And it also has a colour.
And whatever colour you choose is the perfect one for you.
And this crystal grows so bright you feel its energy.
And your roots begin to wrap around the crystal.
And as they wrap around they take the energy and bring it back up through the magma,
Through water,
Soil,
Mud.
All the way up,
Up.
Back piercing through the earth.
Coming back to your feet.
And as it does so it brings with it all this beautiful earth energy.
The energy from the crystal and the rocks and the water and the soil.
And this energy starts to flow up from your feet,
Filling every inch of your body.
Every muscle,
Bone,
Ligament and cell is infused with this beautiful grounding centering light.
And it flows up through your shin,
Knees,
Thighs.
As it swirls round your hips.
Flowing up,
Up through the lower back,
Mid back and upper back.
This grounding energy fills each and every organ.
Flowing up through your stomach and chest.
You're filling up with this grounding energy that rolls over your shoulders and down your arms to the tips of every finger.
And it rises up,
Up through the neck.
Filling your jaw,
Cheeks,
Nose,
Ears,
Eyes.
Filling up your whole head,
Forehead and scalp.
And this beautiful energy swirls round filling up any teeny tiny gaps that may be left until you're buzzing,
Filled to the brim with this incredible earth energy.
And you realise these cords are actually a two way thing.
So as well as bringing up energy from the centre of the earth,
These cords also allow you to get rid of anything you want to let go of.
And it can take it down,
Deep down and transform it and turn it into something new and beautiful.
So on your next inhale,
I want you to let go and allow these roots to heal and cleanse you.
Deep inhale.
And exhale,
Let it go.
Again deep inhale into the belly.
And exhale,
Releasing anything you want to let go of through the feet,
Deep down release.
Continue with a few more of these in your own breath,
Your own time.
Bringing the grounding energy to clear away,
To release.
Letting the new energy really flush out the old,
Making way for the new.
And letting the new energy really flush out the old,
Making way for the new.
And letting the new energy really flush out the old,
Making way for the new.
And whenever you feel complete with that,
Taking your awareness back,
Coming to the here and now as you wiggle your fingers and twitch your nose.
Your roots are still there,
Connecting you.
You feel centred and powerful and rooted.
And you know that you have this connection always.
And when you need to feel grounded,
You can just connect with the centre of the earth,
Bringing up this energy and releasing what you want to let go of.
And as you continue on this journey of grounding,
You notice big shifts in your life.
And when we're grounded,
We can become more aware.
Aware of messages our body is trying to give us.
Aware of our surroundings and our actions and our thoughts.
And when we take the time to listen,
We can experience incredible changes in our reality.
Deep inhale.
Place your hands on your heart.
Check in with your heart a little here.
Feel the love.
As you repeat after me.
I am grounded.
