Welcome to this guided body scan meditation that's going to help you to unwind,
Relax and drift off into a deep,
Sound sleep.
Begin by lying down on your back.
Extend your legs and arms out completely.
Let your feet flop out to the sides.
And rest the backs of your hands down with your palms facing up.
And then softly close your eyes.
And let yourself sink even deeper down.
Adjust your posture and clothing one more time to find that perfect place of comfort and ease.
Feel your whole body completely supported.
Take a deep inhale and on your exhale repeat yourself mentally,
Relax.
There is nothing you have to do apart from listen to the sound of my voice and allow your whole body to soften and relax even more.
I'm going to start naming parts of your body and I invite you to lightly rest your attention on each area as we move from place to place and allow that body part to let go,
To release,
To soften.
And you may drift off during this meditation and that's okay.
As you bring the sensation of deep relaxation to the crown of your head.
Let it flow down your forehead and scalp.
Relaxing your eyebrows.
Open the space between your eyebrows.
Feel your upper eyelids resting heavily on the lower eyelids.
And allow your eyes to sink back like they're relaxing in hammocks.
Soften your cheeks.
Ears.
Nose.
Lips.
Tongue.
And jaw.
As this wave of relaxation flows down your neck.
Relaxing your shoulders.
Upper arms.
Elbows.
Forearms.
And wrists.
Relax all the tiny muscles in your hands and fingers.
And let the fingers lightly curl inwards.
There is nothing to hold onto.
Now is the time to let everything go.
And as you sink even deeper into this state of relaxation.
You soften your chest.
Ribs.
Stomach.
Your upper back.
Mid back.
Lower back sinks deeper down.
Relax your hips.
Thighs.
Knees.
And shins.
As the relaxation flows and fills up your feet.
Feeling the soles of your feet.
And all of the toes.
Let this sensation flow through every inch of your body.
Relaxing your bones.
Your muscles.
Your skin.
Your organs.
Your whole body is relaxed.
And as this relaxation pulses through your body.
It begins to circle all around you too.
Feel yourself completely cocooned in this sensation.
You are so relaxed.
And see yourself floating up into the sky.
Lying on a cloud.
Flying through the stars.
Resting on the moon.
Sweet dreams.
