Welcome to day nine of the gratitude journey.
We're going to tap into wisdom today.
Gratitude is all about tapping into the bigger picture,
The awe and wonder,
The moments that sometimes really honestly cannot be explained.
Things like random acts of kindness,
Which is your journal prompt today.
Gratitude is,
It transcends,
Right?
If you do something,
Someone else might do it,
Right?
And I love that about random acts of kindness and gratitude.
So I want you to write about a random act of kindness,
Either one that you experienced,
One that was done towards you,
One that you did,
One that you just saw happening.
You know,
What did that feel like?
How did it make you feel?
Like if you saw someone,
I hope someone across the street,
That's always my example.
I have no idea why.
But if you saw someone help an elderly person across the street,
If you saw someone hold the door and then you were inclined to hold the door for the next person,
These were random acts of kindness.
They aren't just polite gestures.
They are things that we should be grateful for.
People don't have to be nice.
My father always said people can be nice,
But they don't have to be nice to you.
So when you experience those random acts of kindness,
What do you feel?
When you see one,
How does it make you feel on the inside?
What does it make you think about?
Do you want to then go and do something nice for someone else?
Describe one,
How you feel when you experience or see a random act of kindness.
Be as,
Again,
Specific as possible.
That's important.
Talk about this random act of kindness.
What was it or what is it?
And then I want you to make it your mission this week to do another random act of kindness for someone.
You know,
Be intentional about it.
Don't just do the door opening,
Holding for the next person,
Right?
Be intentional about your random act of kindness.
It probably is not as random,
But because you're planning it,
It's fine.
I want you to show a random act of kindness to someone this week.
And then for this journal prompt,
I want you to write about how it makes you feel.
Again,
Gratitude really transcends and it helps us to see the bigger picture.
It shifts our mood,
Right?
It's not just something that makes us feel good for the moment,
Especially if we're practicing gratitude as a way of life.
Gratitude has even physical benefits,
Right?
And I'll list those physical benefits in the next slide or screen so that you can see why gratitude is so great.
Great fullness of life,
Right?
Experiencing all that life has to offer,
Including random acts of kindness.
So,
Next prompt,
Write about a random act of kindness.
Do a random act of kindness.
Dig deep.
Think about how it makes you feel.
Think about what it makes you think of.
And then make it your mission to do a random act of kindness this week.
All right,
Friends.
I will see you tomorrow.
