Welcome to Day 13 of Insight Timer's Reset and Refresh Challenge.
Your call to break free from the ordinary,
Let go of what's been holding you back,
And step into your life with a fresh perspective.
Let's jump in to today's session.
Hello everyone.
Welcome to Day 6 of our time together.
I hope that this practice is leaving you all feeling seen,
Held,
Heard,
And present.
Today we're going to be talking about our joy.
It's often overlooked.
Many of us forget to slow down enough to remember not only our worth,
But to believe that we are deserving joy.
We all know life can be tough.
We all face challenges and setbacks,
And sometimes we might even feel like we are not good enough.
But here's the truth.
Each of us is worthy,
Simply because we are alive.
Our worth is not determined by our achievements,
Our jobs,
Social statuses,
Or the number of likes we get on social media.
Our worth is deep in our bones,
Despite what the world may tell us and feed us.
I want you all to remember that your worth means recognizing that you are valuable,
Capable,
And deserving of respect and love,
Just as you are.
It's about understanding that your mistakes and failures do not define you.
Your past was practice.
All of this is a part of the journey.
Even when we fail,
Even when we fall or stumble,
There is possibility to rise again,
To get back up.
I know that some people think joy is this luxury.
With all the chaos and sadness in the world,
How could any of us possibly be a joyful human being?
And I get that.
There is a lot of pain and suffering,
But there is also a lot of joy.
Standing in our happiness and in our possibility and in our hope is sacred.
If we learn to stand in joy in our own lives,
We can be a vessel of joy to others.
Exploring what joy is and what it means in our lives is an act of community care.
Some of us may be telling ourselves that we don't deserve happiness,
Maybe because of how we were raised or some specific circumstances in life that we're not proud of.
But I want you to remember,
Don't put conditions on your joy.
You know,
Those things that we say,
Like,
I'll be happy when I get that promotion,
Or I'll be happy and joyful when I lose weight,
Or I'll be happy with a partner.
But the truth is,
You deserve joy right now,
As you are,
With no strings attached,
With no conditions at hand.
As we move through this practice,
I want you to think about what embracing joy means to you.
What it looks like to feel good without guilt.
It means taking time to enjoy the little things,
Like the sun setting,
A lighthearted book,
A deep belly laugh with a friend.
Joy is everywhere.
It's about finding happiness in our present moments too,
Rather than always looking towards the future.
Joy is right now.
Remember,
You are deserving of good and ease and beauty,
Not because of what you do,
But because of who you are in your soul,
In your bones,
In your flaws,
In your humanness.
I know that this might sound cliche,
But you are a unique individual.
You are valuable.
You have your own talents,
Your own qualities.
Don't let anyone,
Including yourself,
Tell you otherwise.
I want to invite you,
As you move through the rest of your day,
To take a moment or two to remind yourself of your worth.
This may feel cheesy,
But I want you to do it.
Look in the mirror and say,
I am enough as I am,
Right now.
I deserve happiness.
I can heal and change and grow.
And in the meantime,
I still deserve joy.
It might feel weird at first to say these affirmations,
Because maybe you don't believe them yet.
And that's okay.
Perhaps instead of an affirmation today,
They're an intention to feel those good things about yourself.
Or maybe if you are feeling really sturdy and grounded in who you are right now,
Perhaps those are declarations for you to remember as you move through the rest of our time together.
Give yourself permission to change the way you see you and the world.
Remember your worth,
Everybody.
You are wonderfully made.
You are absolutely deserving of joy.
And I hope that you embrace it,
That you cherish it,
And that you let it be a true guiding force in your life,
Even when it feels hard.
I'm so proud of you for showing up with me this week.
Tomorrow is our last day together,
And we are going to be tackling what it means to feel and be open in our lives.
Be well,
Friends.
Talk to you soon.
Take care.
