Hi,

I'm Alex L.

Thank you for joining me today for this writing practice as a meditative exercise.

I'm an author and wellness consultant whose goal is to nudge people closer to their voice and true self through self-care,

Writing,

And storytelling.

Writing as meditation allows us to slow down and root deeper into ourselves on the page.

In this practice,

We're going to be exploring affirmation writing as meditation.

If you haven't already,

Get into a quiet place,

Grab your journal and a favorite pen,

And let's get started together.

Before we begin putting pen to paper,

I'd like us to say a few affirmations together.

And yes,

It may feel silly,

But I am a strong believer in practice creating rituals that we can count on daily in our lives and our mental wellness routines.

Affirmations have the ability to support us in a variety of ways.

They can carry us into a brighter light when our internal darkness gets distracting.

They can uplift us when we're facing adversity.

And they can remind us that positive self-talk can show us new ways to stand in our power without guilt or shame.

So join me now in getting into a comfortable position,

A comfortable seat,

Take a deep breath in,

Exhale,

And repeat after me.

I am resilient and ready to evolve.

I can overcome adversity even when I'm feeling defeated.

I will stand tall in my truth even when others aren't able to understand.

I deserve unyielding and authentic love that leaves me feeling full and supported.

I am choosing to lean deeper into joy.

I believe that change can teach me valuable lessons.

I am whole with or without someone standing next to me.

I can decide to be happy at this very moment.

I will open my heart to possibility.

I deserve to be heard because my voice matters.

I am choosing abundance in all corners of my life.

I believe in my ability to show up and be vulnerable.

I'd like you to take a mental note on how you feel in your body right now.

Did those affirmations feel supportive and true or were they just a little bit too much?

Whichever way you're leaning,

Explore it a little more.

Perhaps even ask yourself what felt good about those words.

What felt comforting about saying them aloud?

Or perhaps what felt difficult and challenging for you?

Nevertheless,

Greet yourself with a smile and a smile.

A gentle reminder here,

Affirmations may not always feel true when you first start to create and speak them.

And that's all right.

I want to encourage you to write the challenging ones that come up in your practice on sticky notes and tell them how you feel.

I hope you find this video helpful.

I hope you find this video helpful.

And I'll see you next time.

I hope you find this video helpful.

And I'll see you next time.

Welcome back.

How are you feeling?

Put pen to paper and write down your answer to that question.

Do you believe your words?

Why or why not?

Circle the affirmation that stood out to you the most.

Keep it somewhere where you can see it,

As I mentioned earlier.

Make a ritual out of this writing practice as meditation.

Allow your words and your thoughts and your prayers to support you in this process.

Thank you so much for your time today.

I appreciate you for sharing space with me and for deciding to show up for yourself.

Keep this exercise close to your heart and feel free to come back to it whenever you need a little extra love,

Care,

And motivation.

Until next time,

Take care.

Loved this meditation experience! It provides the space and opportunity for one to settle into thought, write things down, and really examine what is written..good, bad, otherwise. One is also invited to place affirmations in a more visible space to ensure that strengths are being capitalized and the areas of opportunity nurtured.

Alexandria I love your work. Your voice is beautiful and the affirmations are wonderful. I do feel it's hard to absorb the affirmations at the speed you are speaking them. It would be lovely to hear one affirmation and then take a breath to absorb it and then hear the next one.
