Hi,
My name is Asa.
Welcome to this Lunar Eclipse Guided Imagery Meditation.
In this meditation,
You'll imagine finding a cozy spot outside under the night sky and watching a lunar eclipse happening right before your very eyes.
During the peak of the eclipse,
You'll have an opportunity to turn inward for a moment of reflection.
Before we drift off to our peaceful moonlit scene,
Please make yourself comfortable.
You can allow your eyes to fall closed or leave your eyes open with a soft gaze on the floor a few feet in front of you.
If you're seated,
Allow the crown of your head to reach up the next time you breathe in,
And on the following exhale,
Allow your shoulders to relax down.
Slowly begin to deepen your breath.
Breathe in and out at your own pace.
Relax your face,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders,
And anywhere else you may be holding tension.
On your next inhale,
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
And let your exhale out through your mouth with a big sigh.
For the remainder of the meditation,
Allow your body to breathe at its own pace.
If at any point you become distracted,
Gently come back to your breath and return your focus to the meditation.
And now for our guided imagery practice.
I invite you to listen to these words as I gently guide you.
Allow your imagination to run wild,
Adding anything more you'd like to create a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
If you haven't already,
Gently close your eyes.
Bring to mind a location outside,
A safe,
Quiet place for you to relax.
It could be a location you've been to before or a fictional one you're creating.
You might be sitting on a chair or relaxing on a picnic blanket on the ground.
Allow the details of your location to unfold in your mind's eye.
The sky is beginning to darken and the air feels cool and fresh.
A large,
Soft,
Flannel blanket is wrapped around your shoulders and drapes over your lap.
The sky has become darker now,
Allowing for more stars to twinkle above,
Though some remain hidden beneath a blanket of clouds.
You feel comfortable and relaxed as you watch the night sky.
Over time,
The view of the sky changes as the clouds dissipate and more stars come into view,
Giving you an even better look at the vast sky above.
As more stars begin to sparkle,
The sky gets brighter and clearer.
Eventually,
You notice the clouds have completely disappeared and have revealed a beautiful,
Bright,
Full moon.
This incredible moon is shining down on you,
Illuminating the area around you in magical moonlight.
A rush of gratitude flows through you as you appreciate this opportunity to be outside under the light of the moon with an incredible view of the stars.
And as if this moment couldn't get any better,
You remember that there is a very special astronomical event happening tonight.
A lunar eclipse.
You look a bit more closely at the moon,
Gently squinting your eyes for a better view,
And a grin forms on your face as you notice the very edge of the moon has darkened,
As if a tiny bite has been taken off of the side.
You realize the eclipse has begun.
You sit here in awe,
Watching the show above,
Safe,
Cozy,
Grateful.
You notice that the dark,
Missing piece of the moon is growing and encompassing more and more of the moon.
About half of the moon is dark now.
Slowly over time,
More and more of the moon becomes darker and darker.
And though the space around you gets darker,
You still feel safe and excited to be witnessing a lunar eclipse.
Eventually,
You notice that the moon has transformed from almost a completely dark moon to a fascinating deep orangey-red full moon.
This is the peak of the lunar eclipse.
In awe,
You sit,
Watching this magnificent event unfolding right before your very eyes.
You decide to use this magical moment to allow your mind to turn inward and drop into a state of deep listening.
Beneath the thoughts,
Beneath the emotions,
Deep,
Deep,
Deep down to your center,
Listening for any insight that might come up during this auspicious moment.
When you're ready,
You can slowly allow the visualization to dissolve from your mind.
Bring your attention back to your room.
Notice your body and feel the connection between yourself and the chair or the floor.
Take a deep breath in,
Sit back,
Take a stretch,
And gently blink open your eyes.
Thank you for practicing this lunar eclipse guided imagery meditation.
I wish you a wonderful rest of your day.
