Shifting out of productivity mode,
Or simply looking for a soft place to land,
This time is for you.
Let's begin.
Wherever you are,
Take a comfortable seat.
Allow your hands to rest gently in your lap or by your sides,
And gently close your eyes.
Start by taking a deep breath in through the nose.
Exhale slowly through the mouth.
Once again,
Inhaling,
Filling the lungs,
And exhale,
Letting go of any tension you may be holding.
One more deep breath in,
And a long,
Steady breath out.
Allow your breath to return to a natural rhythm.
There's nothing to fix,
Nothing to push,
Nothing to plan.
You've done enough today.
Now it's time to shift from doing to being.
With each exhale,
Feel yourself softening,
Physically and mentally.
Allow your shoulders to drop,
Unclench your jaw,
Soften the space between the brows.
Notice where you're still holding the day,
And with each breath,
Begin to release it.
Breathing in,
You might notice thoughts continue to move through your mind,
And that's okay.
There's no need to resist or control them.
Just allow them to drift by,
Like clouds passing through a quiet sky.
You don't have to carry everything into this evening.
Right now,
You are allowed to pause,
To rest,
To let go.
Inhale.
Silently repeat this phrase,
I release the day,
I return to myself.
I release the day,
I return to myself.
Feel the breath as steady as an anchor.
There's nothing else you need to do.
Let this stillness hold you for just a little while longer.
Now,
Take one last deep breath in,
And a long,
Relaxing breath out.
Begin to bring awareness back into your body.
And when you're ready,
Softly open your eyes.
