Since 1970, Active Meditation has included the practice of Mindfulness in every meditation exercise as preparation form meditation. Preparing for Active Meditation includes what we call self-inquiry detachment, and subsequently, identification with our higher self. Active Meditation mindfulness always includes both detachment through self-inquiry and identification with our higher self.

Mindfulness is a state of awareness that allows us to make sense of what is happening to us.

In active meditation,

We utilize mindfulness as a practice that we call self-inquiry detachment,

As a preparation for meditation.

Many people find that life seems to come at them so fast that they only have time for replaying their habitual response to ordinary events.
