This Active Meditation is designed to start each day fresh. It only takes 15 minutes to complete and intends to set a joyful and optimistic mental and emotional tone for our day. Each Active meditation exercise starts with Self Inquiry Detachement to prepare for meditation. We then move into a short pep talk to begin your day in a confident state of mind.

Welcome to active meditation.

Relax the body and mind.

Just let them be.

Take a few deep breaths,

Sending the excess energy away,

And let it go.

Let's close the eyes to cut down on physical distractions.

We will move away from the outer levels of thought and feeling by remembering what keeps us distracted from our higher self.

This recall will help us stop identifying with ideas,

Emotions,

Sensations,

Or beliefs that keep us stuck in the outer world,

Tied to our personality.

We have a physical body.

This body changes from moment to moment.

The body can be tired or rested,

Sick or healthy,

While the real I Am,

Our higher self,

Continues as the silent witness,

Observing the body.

We have a body.

We are not just a physical body.

We are something far greater.

We have emotions and feelings,

But they also change.

We can be angry or peaceful,

Depressed or happy,

Anxious or relaxed,

While our higher self continues unchanged as the silent observer of all our emotions.

We have emotions,

But we are not just our emotions.

The real I Am is far more.

We have desires and urges,

And they also change from time to time.

We may want something one moment and dislike it the next.

We can doubt some ideas and strongly believe in others.

We can express the desire to have things or to be rid of them.

Our higher self carries on,

Observing with detachment all these differing and changing desires.

We have desires and urges.

We are not just our desires.

Our higher self is far greater.

We engage in many activities and perform many roles.

However,

We are not just actors playing a role.

The real I,

Our higher self,

Is meant to be the director of the action in our life.

We have an intellect that thinks,

But these thoughts fluctuate.

Sometimes they are correct,

Other times they are wrong.

They may even conflict with one another,

Or be at odds with our feelings and desires.

Our thoughts vary and change.

Our higher self continues as the silent witness that observes and is capable of directing our thoughts.

While we have thoughts,

We are more than our ideas or thoughts.

The I am is far greater.

Every day is a new day,

Full of good possibilities,

A chance to restart our self in a new and better image,

To head into the new day with a fresh charge of energy and creative ideas.

New ways to look at old issues,

Perhaps new methods to manage the usual tasks,

New insights to gain about our self and our work.

When we meet the usual challenges of our day,

We can do so by remembering we are empowered by the energies and guidance of our higher self.

Whatever situations we encounter,

Whether favorable or difficult,

We will be able to meet them with the full force of our knowledge,

Skills,

And confidence,

That we will be constructive in what we say and do.

Although we may temporarily feel irritated or anxious or discouraged,

We will still have enough strength,

Ability,

And self-control to do many wonderful things.

Where we know how our conditions or people limit what good we can do and the comfort we can give,

We also know that we can still act with dignity to do our part in contributing to a good outcome,

Knowing that complete success may depend on the cooperation of other people.

When we sense we are approaching the limits of our patience or skill or understanding,

We can still play a useful role in offering what we have,

To speak and act responsibly and honorably,

For we know we are supported by our higher self,

Guided by higher intelligence,

And comforted by the benevolent energies of our higher life.

We enter our new day with hope of all good things,

Mindful of our strengths and abilities,

And also gracefully accepting the limitations we bear,

Expecting another successful and fulfilling day.

And if there are a few rough spots,

We will be able to manage them with competence,

Self-control,

And confidence.

And so it is.

Think on these ideas for a few moments.

We are always more than our body or our feelings,

Our thoughts,

Or the roles we play in life.

Definitely more than our fears,

Doubts,

And resentments.

More than any of our thoughts and memories.

And thus,

We can harness and work with all of our strengths to approach our daily experiences with dignity and confidence.

The resources of our higher self,

Power,

Knowledge,

And love,

Are always with us.

Let's return to the regular waking state of thoughts,

Feelings,

And actions,

Comfortable in all our instruments of awareness,

Our body,

Emotions,

Desires,

And our intellect.

As we reenter time and space,

We know that our personality has made progress in developing a working relationship with our inner self.

A working relationship with our higher self.

The real I Am.

Take a few deep breaths to help establish the waking state and return fully alert and aware of your surroundings.
