The nature of impermanence can be observed through the practice of mindfulness.
Using mindfulness of breath combined with an ongoing open unfolding contemplation of the senses,
The changes in the body,
Mind and being as we meditate,
Allows us a glimpse into the facet of reality that nourishes a deep and profound insight about impermanence and the nature of our being.
Settling in then and resting attention on the breath,
Open senses,
Open mind,
Observing and being with whatever arises as it arises and passes away,
Moment by moment.
Noticing the transient nature of things as we rest and anchor lightly on the breath.
Noticing and letting go of thoughts,
Sounds and sensations moment by moment as they arise and pass away,
Arise and pass away.
Everything changes.
Impermanence permeates all aspects of life.
Tibetan master and scholar Rinpoche said,
Do not encumber your mind with useless thoughts.
What good does it do to brood on the past or anticipate the future?
Remain in the simplicity of the present moment.
