Abigail here and we will be practicing the Shabad Kriya for deep,
Relaxing sleep.
First let's tune in.
Bring our palms together in front of our heart space.
Breathe in and out.
And in.
Inhale.
Hold the breath in.
Sit tall.
And exhale.
This Kriya can be done at night time before bed or anywhere else in your day that you feel you should need some extra breath.
What we will do is we will sit in a comfortable seat,
Perhaps it's cross legged,
An easy pose.
And I'll place my left hand face up in my lap.
My right hand is also face up on top of my left hand in my lap.
And then I bring my thumb tips together to touch and then my thumbs face away from my body.
Then I will look down towards my nose and my eyes are 9 tenths open.
So I'm just squinting,
Looking down towards my nose.
And we will be taking four sniffs in through our nose.
And when we're filled up with air we pause and then we will exhale through our mouth for two strokes.
Now with this breath that we're doing we will be repeating mentally two different mantras.
The first mantra will be Sā,
Tā,
Nā,
Ma.
And then when we're on full we hold the breath in while vibrating that mantra four times a total of 16 in our head.
So it'll sound like Sā,
Tā,
Nā,
Ma.
Sā,
Tā,
Nā,
Ma.
Sā,
Tā,
Nā,
Ma.
Sā,
Tā,
Nā,
Ma.
And then we will exhale,
Mentally vibrating Wāhe Guru.
So again it's sniffing in four times.
Holding the breath in as I vibrate Sā,
Tā,
Nā,
Ma four times.
And then on the exhale I mentally say Wāhe Guru with two equal strokes out through my mouth.
The recommended time is 15 minutes.
We will be doing seven and a half minutes.
So if you should want to go on to 15 you can just repeat this recording.
Let's begin by sitting up nice and tall in our seat reaching through the crown of our head finding the hand posture.
Sitting down towards our nose and beacon.
That's the key.
