Sat Naam,

Abigail here and we will be practicing the Kundalini meditation called Kirtan Kriya.

This is a chanting meditation that involves a mantra and a mudra,

So positioning with our hands.

This is a helpful meditation for mental balance,

For improved memory,

For relief from anxiety and depression,

And many many other benefits that have been scientifically proven.

First let's bring our palms together in front of our heart space to tune in.

Close down your eyes.

Take a nice deep inhale through your nose,

Out through the mouth.

Inhale.

Naaai moo,

Naaai moo,

Gurudev Naaai moo.

Aaaan Naaai moo,

Gurudev Naaai moo.

Aaaan Naaai moo,

Gurudev Naaai moo.

And inhale,

Sit up tall pressing the palms together.

And exhale,

Relax your hands on down,

Face up on your knees.

So first the mantra that we will be chanting together,

The first,

There are four syllables,

The first syllable is saa,

Which means infinity and birth.

Taa,

Which means life and existence.

Naa,

Naa,

Which means death or transformation.

And ma,

Ma,

Which means rebirth.

So essentially it is all of the cycles,

The life cycles in one mantra.

Now as we chant this mantra,

We will be using our thumb and pressing it to each syllable of the mantra and switching our fingers.

So first our thumb and index finger,

And that is saa.

And then we move our thumb to our middle finger,

Taa.

We switch our thumb to our ring finger,

Naa.

And then we switch our thumb to our pinky,

Which is ma.

And all we're doing is we're moving our thumb rhythmically to the mantra as we chant.

We will have our eyes closed during this meditation.

And you will notice me cueing you,

There will be chanting out loud,

There will be chanting in a whisper,

There will be chanting silently,

And then we will return to a whisper and then out loud.

Let's go ahead and close our eyes and focus at the brow point,

Your third eye.

And we will begin.
