A moment of gratitude.
Whether it is because of the coronavirus or just in day-to-day life,
We have ups and downs,
Good days and bad days,
Days where we don't want to get out of bed,
And days where we feel ready to change the world.
As we go through each day,
We encounter many things that change our mood,
Sap our energy,
Or make us feel alive and vibrant.
One thing we can use to either reflect our mood or even to change our mood is music.
So today's moment of gratitude is for music.
Whatever type of music you enjoy,
Try and listen to something today and when you do,
Really savour the moment and appreciate how you connect to the music,
How it makes you feel and how it affects your energy.
Today I have been listening to some gentle classical music because I needed something calming and for me classical music helps me to feel less tense and anxious.
Sometimes in life when we feel sad,
We don't want to feel better,
We want to sit with those emotions for a while and we can use music that resonates with those feelings of sadness like Radiohead's Creep or Elgar's Nimrod from the Enigma Variations.
Songs like this can be very cathartic.
Other times we feel joyful and Katrina and the waves walking on sunshine or Pharrell's Happy can make us get up and turn that positive emotion into energy and dance.
We use music to celebrate and to grieve,
To wake up and to help us relax,
To work out and to fill silences.
Whatever the mood,
There is a piece of music for you so today we are grateful for the music in our lives.
Thank you for joining me today,
Always have gratitude.
